There is no reliable method. The self-reported queue isn't official in any capacity. Half the reservations may drop out, your specific configuration may not be ready by the time you're called, deliveries are made in batches and depend on location, distance.

Assuming Tesla honors the order as best as they can, and that the can deliver to CA no problem, you're going to be pretty early in delivery.

The point of sale credit is effectively the same as the credit this year. The only difference is that they take the money off at the point of sale instead of off of your taxes. If you owe no taxes, you won't get the $7,500 either way. They'll require you submit last year's taxes and gross income (from your taxes) and some kind of proof of income taxes this year before allowing you to take the rebate off the price of the car.

So, may as well buy now.

I think there is a proposal that goes along with the credit at time of purchase which waives the required 7500 taxes paid or due. So essentially that requirement will be removed

Based on the title of this thread, I thought you were going to propose nicknames or ranks for us forum members based on when we reserved and our expected delivery.

Upon being disappointed with the thread I propose the following outline. I have zero writers pride. Edit as necessary with better ideas.

If you ordered within...
1st 4 hrs, = Generalissimo
If you waited...
4-24 hrs, = Chief Surething
24-48 hrs, = Col ...
48-1 wk, = Gunny ...
1wk-1mo, = 1st Sgt (Your there to bridge the gap between the early adopters and those that came after.)
1mo-1yr, = Deputy Commander (very little actual responsibility to us here. You're just in it for a good time.)
1-2yr, = Maj Snickers (cause it's gonna be a while)
2-3yr, = ?...
3-4yr, = Capt Copasquat
4+, = Coastie...we forgot you were even there.

I ordered in the first hour and ended up with a 56k position. I don't know if I'll get offered one in the first year.

So I saw this earlier. I guess everyone gets the full credit regardless of tax liability, but if you earn too much you'll have a big tax bill next year.
