Tesla very recently said the 4680 cost is going to be around $70/ kWh. (At the earnings call last month)

So the full pack might be $14k for the 500 mile range truck. Maybe a touch more or less. But the $40k truck was likely to have a pack half that size, so the battery would be $7-9k. On top of that, they are likely to collect between $10 - $45/ kWh credit as part of the IRA. That last bit is less clear, but could well cut the pack cost in half.

There is certain to be some flipping going on early along, but once production picks up, it’ll stop being profitable.
Thats not the cost of the pack thats the cost of the batteries inside.

It's amusing how many people seem to simply be offended at the idea of Tesla holding their $100 and failing on their promises. If $100 changes anything for you, then you weren't a CT customer to start with.

That paperboy is just a bit ahead of the pack… behind come the rest of the Cybertruck reservations…

Keep your Tesla! Don’t be like Toyota and sell your Tesla prematurely. Toyota is regretting that they sold off Tesla.

I feel that I am really sitting in the dark and would really welcome some detail on exactly what the Cybertruck will include. At this stage we don't know what the pricing will be, but more importantly, we don't know much about the spec. As they are already tooling up for production, they must surely have settled on the spec by now. Please share it with us....

There is a lot of water to go under the bridge for me, and maybe many others.

Not just the release date nor the version nor the price...

It's the share price.

I don't expect a call before the end of 24, I think the share price will have recovered by then. Nevertheless, it has put a screwdriver in the works for now.

Can’t ever expect the SP to be where you want it to be when you need it.

Good news is if you needed to save up, best time in a long time.

Or maybe the economy will keep falling off a cliff.

I think a lot of the angst about Musk, Twitter, etc is due to the share price. But Tesla is a high beta/ high risk stock and it’s a recession…

  1. Go to Tesla.com.
  2. Click on Menu in the upper-right.
  3. Click on Account from the menu.
  4. Log in or create an account with your reservation email address.
  5. The reservation should show now.
  6. Click Manage on the reservation.
  7. Click request a refund, it's in the lower right, a bit more than halfway down the page.
You'll need to complete the forms until it emails you back.

Sorry to hear you need the money so badly.

Well, just so happens I have some money coming in mid-Dec, I have been buying since 2018, this will be my last purchase before I sit on it like a chicken till CT day.

It's a fair amount. This drop has doubled my 'worst case' forecast.

Stupid Luck can sometimes beat Superior intelligence. :p

Is there any way to get my Cybertruck deposit back? If so, how do I do this? Thanks
I get it, Dave. How many life changes must we endure before CT delivery? Since depositing for CT, I've retired and have no paycheck. We're seeing opportunities for foreign travel, living in other countries for up to a year. Don't need a CT living in Australia &SE Asia, right?

you're still wrong but thanks for coming out.
Probably take longer to update software so vehicle can identify battery, like an organ transplant.
