I ordered a CT AWD on January 11 with an expected delivery window of January to March. As it stands, it seems unlikely that delivery will occur in March. I'm increasingly frustrated with Tesla's behavior and their seemingly inflexible "take it or leave it" approach. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether I can get a refund on my deposit if I decide to cancel, given that Tesla won't be able to deliver the vehicle within their specified timeframe. While I still need a vehicle and am likely to proceed with the purchase, I would appreciate knowing my options. Thank you!

That was an estimated time frame. Right in the order agreement.

"The estimated delivery date of your Vehicle, if provided, is only an estimate as we do not guarantee when your Vehicle will actually be delivered. Your actual delivery date is dependent on many factors, including your Vehicle’s configuration and manufacturing availability."

So no you will not receive a refund. The story sounds good, but the order that one placed also had contract that one agreed to. Making the story not relevant.

doubt it, you were never promised any date or timeframe so if you cancel it would be forfeiting your deposit most likely. your first tesla eh ?

Typically no refund is given. They sometimes will shift that deposit on request to a different vehicle order, but it sounds like you do not simply want a different model vehicle.

If you don't have a VIN assigned yet, it's worth a try to ask them for a goodwill refund so everyone else can move up the line one. But legally they don't have to refund a deposit that is non-refundable.

Once the VIN# is assigned, I'm pretty sure it's a hard "no", but maybe worth a try before that. I'm pretty sure you would not be able to retain your place in the reservation order list however, if you are simply trying to avoid the Foundation Serivies early adopter "tax".
