In my state a truck with a GVW over 10,000 pounds falls into a different category especially at inspection time, must go to special locations. When I ordered my 2012 Chevy 3500 there was a code to downgrade the gvw to 10,000.

As more battery is added two things happen. The extra weight means more watts per mile. The extra weight reduces payload.

Fortunately for me the range works. It will be better than my 2016 mX and the home charging although slower than the X is acceptable

I believe Ford offers the "option" of a lower GVWR on SuperDutys as well. If you want an electric Hummer, though, you are stuck in Class 3: the GVWR is 10,550 lbs.
