I am seriously considering CT (2022 reservation).

i live rural. I am about 2 hours away [1 way] from nearest service center. This would be my first potential tesla vehicle.
Definitely not my first EV. we have a ioniq 5 [2+ years and zero issues] that we charge at home on lvl2. Nearest huyndai service center is 1 hour away. which is manageable.

Q: does anyone live far from tesla service center and how is their overall experience with CT service living far?

Yep… I live 205 miles by road to the nearest TSC. I have a Tesla mobile tech coming to see me today, otherwise it’s a 3 hour drive for me.

I haven’t had the need to go in yet. It will be 6 hours round trip when it does happen. I’m definitely not looking forward to that, but the price we must pay for owning the CT.

I live in a rural area about 270 miles from the nearest SC and it's not all interstate/high speed highway either. I've owned Teslas for 3 years, but I'm used to traveling that far for service as the type of vehicles I've traditionally liked are not available locally (e.g., MINIs). Luckily I don't mind driving and the company I work for has an office in the Twin Cities so that has made it relatively easy for me to get down there when I have to. Tesla-wise I've had two service trips.

The first was when a crack formed on the interior pane of my rear window the first time the temps dropped under -20F. I made an appointment via the app for a week or two later and made the trip without incident (covered under warranty). The 2nd was last winter when I got a "low coolant" warning on my Model Y. Again, I made an appointment via the app this time for about a month out as I was busy. I drove it for about 2000 more miles before getting down there. Again, no issues and covered under warranty. It turned out a couple of sensors were going bad in the thermal management system.

Minor issues can be handled by Tesla's mobile service vans in your driveway, but I haven't run into anything that would require them yet. For reference, I've put close to 50k miles on my Teslas over the past 3 years (including over 1200 on my CT).

It’s not really their problem, so it never occurred to me to ask really ?

like I mentioned, scheduling has been pretty easy through the app. They provided a loaner during both service appointments too. I’ve always had good interactions (service or otherwise) at the delivery/service centers in MN. Actually, the same has been true for our MINI dealer over the years as well. Maybe it’s a ”Minnesota nice” thing …
