Hey everyone,
I’ve been lurking here for a while. Finally decided to post a project I’ve been engineering.
The Problem:
Static ditch lights feel "analog" on a digital truck. If you are setting up camp or trying to spot a trail turn, having to stop the truck and get out to manually twist the pods defeats the purpose.
The Solution:
I engineered a motorized, 360-degree aiming mount that sits under standard light pods (Rigid/Baja/KC).
• Mechanism: Solid Brass Worm-Drive (Self-locking; designed to hold zero on washboard roads).
• Housing: CNC 6061-T6 Aluminum.
• Control: Wireless Remote (No firewall drilling).
• Wiring: Sealed slip-ring design.
Video of the Kinematics (CAD Simulation):
Project Status:
I have the Master Engineering Package (STEP files + BOM) finished and Patent Pending.
I'm trying to decide if I should release the files for DIYers or find a manufacturing partner (Unplugged/TSportline) to produce a run.
Let me know what you guys think. Would you run these?
