If anyone reading this has a perfectly fine and working windshield wiper, please comment. I have a theory that all of our windshield wipers are not working properly, but only the people living in areas where the weather requires a clean windshield often have noticed the issue.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s just my windshield wiper that sucks or if this is every Cybertruck. I’ve seen a couple comments from folks about the wiper and the jets that shoot wiper fluid. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains a lot as well as the roads are just damp and dirty. What I’ve noticed is that not only do the jets not properly spray fluid over the entire windshield, But the wiper itself doesn’t really contact the windshield near the top of the wiper. It’s acceptable for the driver even though still about 30 to 40% of the viewable area remains dirty. But the real problem is that the area that doesn’t get enough windshield wiper fluid and the wiper doesn’t fully contact the windshield smears dirt across the entire camera housing area. Making auto pilot and FSD unuseable even in perfectly acceptable weather conditions. I received my truck on Dec 23 2024 with a vin ending in 039xxx

I can tell for sure about my CT - windshield wiper SUCK ASS. Even after I've drained the fluid that came with it and refilled it with the best one RainX, it still SUCK ASS.

Same for me. Lots of streaking on the passenger side. Seems the contact from the blade is decent but the washer fluid does not have a powerful spray and just seems to dribble out not covering the windshield at all.

Try the drop flop... While driving about 40, reach out and lift top of the wiper from the windshield about 6 inches or so and let it flop back into place. Then, try a cleaning wipe again. I just did that this morning and it worked great.

Should we have to do that? No.
Have I ever had a non-Tesla vehicle that benefitted from the same process? Yes.

I live in the PNW, too - and I don't have any problems with my wiper. Upon delivery (July), I swapped out the factory blue juice with Kristall Klar in distilled water. It only sprays when the wiper hits the bottom of the swing, but it cleans the windshield fine. And I don't get any streaks worth complaining about. ?‍♂

Mines fine and has worked well in FL which is a pretty good test for heavy rain. I'm used to more fluid coming out when i use the sprayer but i've never found myself in a situation where it wasn't enough to get the job done.

Only issue i have is auto.

No issues here. (Now on new arm after recall.)
I have noticed that the wiper fluid jets aren’t very effective currently. (During the last winter storm, I’ve noticed that the fluid didn’t spray so it left lines on the windshield where the fluid was on the upper portion where there isn’t as much weight.)

I am also unhappy with the wiper. The driver half works well. The passenger side/distal half has problems with appropriate amount of fluid and jets spray into the air. I got used to see the dirty streaks. I hope Tesla will hear our complaints and next generation wiper will fix it. We need aftermarket entrepreneurs to redesign the wiper. I will eagerly buy more efficient replacement.

Mine's worked well as a wiper for normal precipitation so far. I think the "auto" setting is a bit too aggressive. Fluid spray is pretty bad (insert aftermarket solution here).

In the warm weather and rain, it works great. In the winter, with salt and crap kicking up, it sucks.

Ditto. Had to use the wiper the night after picking up the truck and a number of times since then; no major complaints about its operation. If I were to be picky, there is a light band in the middle of the wiper blade's travel that doesn't seem to wipe well. Leaves a slight haze as if the blade is starting to wear out; unlikely since the truck is <3 months old. It's not so bad to create a service appointment or buy a new blade though.

Also agree about the lack of fluid coming out; use to more water being applied to the windshield during operation. It's not so low [in volume] to not work though. If I had my choice, I'd rather the water hit the windshield before the wiper blade goes across the glass. As designed, the wiper goes to the lower position first, going over any possible contaminants on the glass, before spraying water in front of the blade then wiping the water/contaminants off the glass.

I'm pretty sure the factory washer-fluid is the same stuff they put in porta-johns and aviation toilets.

I dumped it immediately.
