Door storage box

Just came back from a road trip to Vegas and realized how unless that space on the door is. Tried putting stuff there like my EDC knife, flashlight, coins and it just rattles or falls down to where I put my hydroflask. A quick Amazon search and I found this storage solution that has a nice door. It’s a perfect fit and took less than 30 sec to install. Comes with a rubber mat as well preventing rattle noise. Can’t believe this wasn’t stock but then I guess I can because it goes against Tesla “minimalist” design. Nonetheless, I was very happy with this product and just wanted to share with everyone. I don't understand why people store trash in their cars... take your crap when you get out. Long road trip? Sure, it's fine to have somewhere to put trash but why keep it in your car once you get where you are going?

I have a strict rule of no food garbage allowed. Typically my trash is composed of receipts and random wrappers. Once a month I’ll dump it. There isn’t really a nice place to stash the trash in CT, while you’re driving. Having a covered trash bin within arms reach is super convenient; Easier to do that instead of forgetting about the paper in my pocket and finding it all over the washer lint trap ?

There's merit in the dryer lint thing. If I get a receipt that I don't want, I throw it away in the store or put it in my pocket. The door trash bin seems like it'd be a hassle to dump out. And that little shelf in the door? Perfect place for sunglasses... out of direct sunlight, they stay put, they are easy to reach when driving.

Hahaha, im good on the trash bin. I like to keep that spot open for my hydroflask. It’s the only truck that has a spot for it to fit perfectly.

Thx for posting, I ordered a few days ago and figured it was a 50/50 worth it. Not sure what I'll put in it but at least it's not dead space.
