I have an underglow kit installed. Currently have it secured with the tape included with the kit and a few zip ties. However, living in the PNW with the constant water spraying on the underside has me wondering if this is enough? I was considering using some cable straps with #6 1/2 inch SS screws. Is it safe to drill into the metal undercarriage? I would need to drill about 1/4 depth.

Not sure about the cabling/fasteners but looking at your LED strip; if it is not in a sealant of some sort (i cant see it in the picture), i would pay attention to that first.

"In other news, Cybertruck owner Rook-E died tragically today when the battery pack he drilled exploded in his face."

I would recommend stronger adhesive.

The strip itself is encased and waterproof. I also added silicone adhesive to the strip ends.

Maybe try magnets? I havent tried myself so I cannot confirm if the bottom metal is ferrous.

When you say undercarriage… id be verry careful because a whole lot of that “undercarriage” is your sealed battery pack. I personally would not drill any new holes anywhere under that truck.

That’s the battery pack that you want drill into. Not a good idea.

I’d recommend a better led light strip. These by OPT7 have an aluminum shell that you can use VHB tape along the whole light bar to attach it. I have these on on my camper van for over 2 years.
More contact points the better adhesion.
Bonus the dream chaser by opt7 are really nice

I agree. Don't drill near the battery, even if your sure it won't hit the battery. We have no idea what's under any specific spot.
