Driving “the other car” after weeks with the Cybertruck

Are most of you Cybertruck owners feeling like driving any other vehicle is a super antiquated feeling? Our other daily is a quad motor Launch Edition R1S, which I absolutely love (it’s a great vehicle), but driving it now feels nowhere near as joyful as I remember.

I think it’s wholly focused on the steering, and I’m really believing that drive by wire plus rear wheel steering has ruined me going forward.

Agree, steering wheel on M3 feels sluggish, have to turn the wheel forever to do anything.

Same. We have an R1S and it was my daily driver before we got our Cybertruck. I absolutely loved the R1S and still do in some ways, but driving it feels like a major step backwards and I find the suspension in the Cybertruck to be more comfortable.

The R1S is a great road tripping vehicle, though, so I’m looking forward to them shipping the NACS adapter so we can use it on more of our trips.

I love my CT, but I still enjoy driving my Model 3, particularly in the canyons. Model 3’s weight, height, and tires are just better suited for that.

I’d be in agreement with you except for one small detail. Supercruise! I can’t wait for FSD. I can’t believe I have to center my own vehicle down the road. I’m being a bit dramatic, but it is something you get use to driving on I75

Hah! Indeed. Not having even basic AP on the Cybertruck makes it less enjoyable for me when it comes to road tripping, but that's offset by it just being generally fun to drive and access to the Supercharger network. The routes we take that have CCS chargers are super unreliable, so I refuse to drive anything but a Tesla on those routes, even without AP or FSD.

The Cybertruck handles remarkably well for a truck, especially in Sport Mode, but it cannot compete with the Model 3 in the twisties. Part of it is the All-Terrain tires, but much of it is due to the higher center of gravity (even in Sport Mode) and the additional weight.

However, I already know when I drive our F-150 for the first time after driving the Cybertruck, it will feel like an unsafe and antiquated piece of crap.

Had my CT in for service center appt. minor cosmetics, and the loaner was a demo MX with the yoke. almost drove across an intersection making a left turn and that sucker didn't turn until I realized it needed to really keep cranking that beast over. lol . I have to say my arms were worn out by the time I got it back to the service center. also took my wife's MS85 to the store real quick and can't believe how that steering wheel is so big and in the way.

Having seen what a game-changer the rear wheel steering is, I'm looking forward to the expected update to bring the rear wheels to the full 10 degrees of offset they are physically capable of!

The best feature is how maneuverable it is when turning around, but I also like the way it effortlessly changes freeway lanes quickly with minimal body roll. It feels like it just "slides" into the next lane so easily.
