Is it just me, or did the Beast look like it started a split second before the AWD? Not saying it wasn’t gonna beat it anyway, but on the AWD it almost seemed like the accelerator was pressed after the Beast started.
Nope. That’s just part of the difference between a true launch mode vs just mashing the accelerator on a green light.

From this comment, it sounds more like the beast buyers have something they need to compensate for. Lol at least this way you can say being quick is a good thing!

Too bad about that new Rivian. Second place isn't bad though.

But in reality, not everyone wants/needs the quickness, 20k to move quicker with very little other actual benefits could be viewed as just spending to spend. It doesn't make you better ?
So you are basing it on a truck that hasn’t even been produced yet? Dummy ?

Yes, regularly… Whether it’s skiing and mountaineering in the winter or fly fishing, camping, and climbing in the summer, I frequently do day trips and weekend trips into the mountains/backcountry where access to electricity let alone L2+ chargers is nonexistent. The extra range opens up a lot more possibilities in destination as well as duration of any given trip.

To the topic at hand, this entire thread was made by OP to acknowledge that the AWD is no slouch even though it is “slower” than the Beast. For some reason you took offense to that and have been brigading the thread by tearing down anyone who says something positive about the AWD. To this day (three months in), not one person has asked me if it was a Beast nor has anyone “called me out” for buying an AWD. Even if they had, it would not have affected me in the slightest because I was early enough in line that I could have had either by now and chose the one I wanted without any limiting parameters in the decision making process. If the Beast had more range, I would have gone that route, simple as that. When you get to a certain point in life, you start doing what you want to do because you want to do it/it’s the best for you and not because of what others will think.

At the end of the day, 0-60 times are just a fleeting high to me. I’ve driven and owned purpose built race cars that would leave the Beast on the line and never look back but the rush of driving those cars comes from way beyond low-end, straight-line acceleration. If I really wanted to chase that dragon I’d buy another actual race car or look at something like a Plaid, Roadtser, Nevera, or the like that can do a lot more than be quick to a speed below most highway speed limits. Still I know from experience that something else will come along (likely in short order) and my time on the mountain top will come to an end. If you take delivery of a Beast in Q4, your time as king of the “fastest truck” hill will be measured in weeks if at all (assuming the R1TQ does not arrive earlier than expected).

All this to say do what you want because you want to do it but don’t throw shade on others for having different aspirations/needs than yourself. Plenty of people actively chose the AWD over the Beast because it was simply the better truck for them. Ultimately, depending on the use case(s), the AWD is an objectively better truck than the Beast.
less than 20miles of extra range is not anything to crow about….you also fail to grasp the fact that the added power in the beast allows it to perform much much better and safely than the AWD when towing….ignorance is bliss so enjoy your awd….and the extra ~dozen miles of range…

The R1TQ isn't some theoretical truck, it’s a truck that has already been built and tested by independent reviewers who pulled 2.4s multiple times. If you want to talk theory, don’t be surprised if the CB is a mid-pack performance truck at best in a couple years. Dodge will come out with an electric TRX, Ford with an electric Raptor, and who knows what else is being cooked up. Hell your FS CB probably won’t even be the fastest Cybertruck by then.

You’re paying for bragging rights that have a very short term expiration date on them so enjoy it while it lasts. From experience though, and I hate to break this to you because you seem very invested in it, most people don’t even know what my truck is let alone whether it’s a Beast or an AWD. Make sure you get a big beast logo in your wrap or a bumper sticker or something to communicate it to those around you if you need that validation.

What part of “ev” in “ev trucks” threw you off?
Just because you say EV doesn't make you right. The truck is insanely fast. Full stop. The only one limiting that comparison is you. The other EV trucks just happen to also be insanely fast.

Good to know that if something is in the middle of the ev pack that’s “insane” to you…now that’s insane! ?

I really don't care that much, but just wanted to point out that tires make a HUGE difference. The Rivian was on All Season tires vs. All Terrain for the Cyberbeast. Once the Rivian is released to normal people, I'm sure we'll see a drag race that will settle it.

In regards to AWD vs. Beast, I'm like a lot of people and went for what I could get first. I'm very happy I did since I got mine at the end of February!

That’s correct…as others pointed out when the Rivian theoretical numbers were released, the rivian quad is purported to do 60 in “under 2.5seconds”….motorTrend achieved 60mph in 2.5 with the beast and that was on off road capable tires…with sport tires clearly they would have run “under 2.5seconds”….

I'm sure Tesla tested both and posted the best #.

Rivian quad was tested at less than 2.5 already too sooooo

Incorrect. Tesla numbers were conservative as MotorTrend already proved…
