I had a problem with a charger at work not releasing. After releasing with the manual release I routed the release to an opening. This is in case I need to use it again and don’t want to have to pull panels apart. Thankfully this has not been needed since.

What brand charger was it? Maybe the button was no longer working. Chargers used by Joe Public live a hard life.

It’s a work charger with with enphase chargers. The charger wasn’t working right and the truck didn’t see it so it didn’t know that the adapter was still attached. The unlock button was not available.

J1772/CCS can't go away soon enough. It's a standard created out of stubbornness to listen to Tesla and a desire to try to isolate them (back in 2012 when they were vulnerable). The industry ignored Tesla's arguments about how it was not a good idea to electrify transportation using a combined (CCS) standard that was backwards compatible with an inferior standard (J1772) that was only used by a few thousand cars. The industry thought they could go their own way in 2012 and leave Tesla high and dry.

See how that worked out for them?
