Well, the length of the Taiga is listed as 132.3 inches which is just over 11 feet long. Just a bit longer than the 6.5 feet length of the CT bed.
Might be able to tie it to the top above the closed tonneau. But a better solution would be a toy trailer.

Depends on how far and on what roads you’re going, but I don’t think the business end is especially heavy on it so might just tie it in the front and leave the CT open in the back?

Yep, even if one slid two 2"x14"x6' pressure treated boards under too give added support at the overhang.
Irregardless of the wood support , the bulk of the weight is IN/ON the truck bed so tie it well and enjoy.
