Couldn’t see the console, I was too busy checking out what look to be lay-flat front seats. Would absolutely love that as a feature of the Cybertruck.
the platinum (which that is) trim do/did have lay flats

oddly, it was amongst the “deletes” during the purported chip shortage related deletes across the trim levels

haven’t followed closely enough to know if they’re shipping with again

I think those are just normal seating surfaces with the seat backs tilted back a bit. The effect that made you think they were lay-flat seats is simply rectilinear distortion from an ultra-wide lens.

I don’t know if renders have rectilinear distortion, but here’s an actual photo for @Ogre’s daydream

Would very much like this for the Cybertruck. Drop in an air mattress with some padding and this would be great for camping.

Doesn't look platinum, wrong screen?

that render is of an ICE, not a Lightning

ICE Platinum-only leather color, and Platinum badging on steering wheel and console lid

On a vaguely related thought: in the ICE version I could rationalize the Platinum trim for the price delta - the lay flat and massaging seats, leather quality, trim upgrades, sound upgrades, wheel upgrades, etc., I can fathom being worth the $7,000 delta

In the Lightning, that package takes a range hit and the price delta is $11,500

WTF?

I chose Lariat.

I *do* miss the massaging seats

For the CT, would it work for the front seats to slide far enough forward for the backseats to not fold up? If the flat area extends onto the backseats, that would provide a long enough bed for not just napping, but sleeping.

If the interior is 6 feet wide, I might just take the back seats out when I go camping and set up a plywood bed in the rear with some drawers underneath for gear. The front seats would just slide forward.

That would be good for storage, but it feels inefficient to me to remove firm yet soft seats in favor of plywood, which I have to cushion with a Thermarest or air mattress. The CT comes with cushioned surfaces ?

Yes… but those same cushions have very distinct contours designed to fit my ass not my back.
