that is a good idea, thank you... and I just may have some lysing around!

If that fails, there’s always 3M VHB tape which is my go-to for semi-perm install. Though manufacturer says some types of their VHB line are permanent, with some elbow grease and Goo Gone, they can still be removed cleanly.that is a good idea, thank you... and I just may have some lysing around!
Give them time. In their defense, several after-market providers have polled this forum for ideas of products we would like. I suspect we will soon see a similar offering from at least one of them (and then several others shortly following as is the nature of their business). This is the kind of ideas I wished those chinese accesories makers can introduce since they have access to injection molding. Instead, they just making the same ole mat. Definitely should pitch to them to integrate your idea with their mat for the best of both worlds.
I like the way you think! But IMO just a tad over-the-top. ;-)It would be amazing to do this, but with L-track on the sides and MOLLE for the cross panel.
Definitely over the top! But what about the CT isn't? In all seriousness though, any L-Track and MOLLE accessories would be usable then, from quickfists to clips to latches to nets, etc.I like the way you think! But IMO just a tad over-the-top. ;-)
I just thought of possible solution to bottle holder getting pulled, but requires redesign. Make the slat ends as wedges so the fence and the rails snap together.I just put it in the CT and the fit is about perfect! The water bottle holder does occasionally get pulled out along with the water bottle - so I am thinking a little dab of glue from a glue gun (not so much for the adhesive quality but for the slightly increased width of the fence and hence friction fitting).
The construct seems plenty strong- but if I had to print it again, I might make the bridge across the two round holders a bit more robust.

I did consider dovetailing the fence but, because the rails are tilted outward, that would mean removing the whole thing every time you want to change the fence location. I wanted it to be easy to move the fence as needed. I suspect the reason the bottle holder pops loose is the fence is flexing from the large mass of the water bottles. Make it stiffer (add some additional members between the cups) and it won't likely pop out. Or use two slots (spacing is 50mm).I just thought of possible solution to bottle holder getting pulled, but requires redesign. Make the slat ends as wedges so the fence and the rails snap together.
Ahh, makes sense.I did consider dovetailing the fence but, because the rails are tilted outward, that would mean removing the whole thing every time you want to change the fence location. If this proves to be a big enough issue, I will do just what you suggested and actually then, I could add a couple dividers to make cubbies. Actually, the round holders themselves would make natural partitions. My next step is to see if sanding the holders would just allow the water bottles to slip out easier.
