All done. Thanks!Sounds good.
I ordered and chose Global standard shipping as recommended by pcbway support. Total came out 44 dollars after 5 dollar coupon. Will update once I get it.

I did the same, but because the camera is always powered, the R8 doesnt turns off when parked and away from the truck. You have that issue?I tapped 2 wires into the 2-pin connector inside cabin camera housing. That connector provides around 15V which in operation range of Uniden R7/R8

RTFMThere are two workarounds:
1. Enable power-saving mode for the R8. However, you’ll need to manually press the power button to power it back on for each use.
2. Set the dim mode of the R8 so that its screen only displays when necessary. Additionally, turn off Sentry mode at home. This is the method I’m currently using.
This works like a charm btw. Fits the Uniden R8 perfectly and wiring was extremely simple. Here is the 3D printed mount I made that fit Uniden radar detector. Just use the old screw from the mirror.

The power to the radar detector if you use the wire above the camera area will stay on until the car goes to sleep after a few minutes. so it doesnt drain a lot of power.I did the same, but because the camera is always powered, the R8 doesnt turns off when parked and away from the truck. Beautiful clean install! I used a Magsafe mount behind the screen and a magnetic ring to mount my R4 directly at eye level. Here is the 3D printed mount I made that fit Uniden radar detector. Just use the old screw from the mirror.

My Uniden saved me a number of times. Added an ALP to our Model X and I love the befuddled look of the Cops when they stare at their Laser guns as I pass by. Going to use this mount in the interim while I order the new R-9w Radar/Laser detector with Laser Jamming! That’s a loaded question that starts many of fights on Reddit.
I find the most value on the drive to Vegas from So Cal. On that stretch it has saved me several times. I’ve had it save me a couple times on freeways around LA too. Around town, I can’t say it’s ever saved me. I got hit a few months ago by a motor cycle cop with laser by my house.
My driving style is stay in the fast lane so I only deal with cars coming at me from one side. I go the speed of traffic. If that’s 70 or 80 or 90, fine. If the freeway is wide open, I go 80 or so. It gives me a piece of mind on the freeway.
Around town, I don’t weave, but I’ll go 55 on a 45. There’s a hill by our house and he got me coming down the hill too fast. 55 in a 40. First ticket in 12 years.
I don’t consider it a cool factor at all. I believe it helps on the freeway and if it helps once, it’s worth it.
