I have optics from ancient Kmart binos to Nikon and Leica. I like the Orions a lot. Haven't put them through the paces yet, but the cursory backyard star gazing was quite surprisingly good. Can't wait to try the filters.

Another fun pair of optics I have and use frequently is Pentax Papilio for checking out insects and macro stuff. Opposite of the star gazing, but still super interesting.

The good ‘ole days when you could buy quality products from a place like Kmart. I think my first pair came from there and I saved all summer for them! Not familiar with the Pentax so looking into them now. Thanks!

I just picked up a Sky Rover XWA 20mm 100 degree FOV eyepiece for my scope. When i looked into them they seem to be the main OEM for a lot of optics companies and have made stuff to compete with Televue etc.

Looking at the binoculars they look suspiciously similar to what Vortex Binocular offers. I have a set of Athlon Optics Midas G2 (upgraded from the Argos G2), that I absolutely love and havent seen a better set of optics under $1000 (or any from my own limited experience). The bright FOV is amazing.

But you arent really dealing with serious binoculars till you reach ones with 2" interchangeable eyepieces and 6" aperture lol. Weighs a good 50 lbs.

These HD camp chairs have an amazing 500 pound weight limit.
