I know people are staring and even taking pictures while both of us are driving, I just pretend I wasn't ware of that and focusing only at my CT dashboard/display/windshield.

Sitting on a mainstreet after dinner. Lights off in truck and outside. Both of us are on phones checking in after a phone free dinner. Man bee lines across street. I roll down window. Realizing if someone is going to jack me. My town has changed. Oh well.

You aren't ---------are you? No.

Good. I asked if I was?? We don't like him. Well I am not him. Have a nice day. Just a guy in his truck I said.

I guess this fellow tells everyone in Michigan he owns the first Cybertruck on social media and in local community FB pages drumming up referral credits. I think there are 4 wandering around that I know of. I get to meet this fellow on Saturday. I am bringing the truck. Should be fun.

Closest thing I could compare this to was when the iphone 1 came out. Everybody wanted to see it. If you had one people would stare and ask questions.

Model 3 was a bit of an attention getter. I was one of the first in the area to have and there were people that would ask to look at it. But it was more like 15-20 in a year. Nothing like this.

Luckily I live close to where greggertruck works so I can send folks to him!
@greggertruck is a bit of an attention whore but its the only way he's gonna unload all those damn TV's he's got stacked up.

<edit> Yes..this is total sarcasm...

That’s unfair. He’s a CyberTruck lover and super friendly and a great ambassador!

you might be joking. I will assume so!

It’s true kids seem to love it. Maybe it is that they have no bias like adults can have. EV vs gas etc. And the political stuff.
I've only had mine 24 hours but my impression is that adults have a very positive impression too. Too many positive and enthusiastic comments and gestures to share.

My wife and kids are incredibly apprehensive about the attention that we are expecting to get. I’m outgoing and friendly, but my wife and kids are very introverted. My pickup date is tomorrow so they are worried.

A lady got mad at me for not rolling down my window while we were in a traffic jam. I had my windows tinted so can't roll them down. Wasn't trying to snub her, but I'm sure she just wanted to ask "WTF is that thing?" Since I have already been asked 3 times now.

Yeah for me the following is a bit much. I understand it’s an unusual vehicle but I have had maybe 10 adults follow after me and stop me in the last few weeks. I guess it’s just something I wouldn’t personally do. I feel it’s a bit invasive.
Yeah I feel you. 6 weeks in here in SLC and it’s still pretty crazy the amount of attention it gets.

I have been followed into stores and even home a couple of times. Haha. I get that it does feel like a bit much but each time it’s been people genuine interest and excitement that makes me smile. I don’t get the feeling people even really think about how it could be a little off putting to be followed but I’ve never felt like it’s been done with malice.

Wifey put it perfectly the first time she saw it in person and then rode in the truck with me.

“DumpsterFire, if you’re going to drive a truck this unique and strange, you just simply can’t be a dick when people wanna talk about it…”. ?

Wifey is wise. She just has terrible taste in men….?

I'm guessing it'll be the same here in Orange County. All of the posts that I've seen on here from people picking up in Irvine said that on any given day they're delivering like ten trucks through that location.
This is pretty accurate. Still getting attention, but less by the day (which I’m happy about). Had dinner at the Pendry earlier this week and when I arrived I was the only CT, but after dinner there were two wrapped matte black parked next to me (front row valet with all the super cars next to them).

The best is the reaction of young kids…their eyes light up and they are in awe. Reminds me of the joy of young kids seeing Santa.
