What quad motor? I’ve watched the announcement 20 times over the years. I’ve never heard quad motor.
Elon said the first CT would have 4 motors in December of 2021, but as we all know, his tweets are often fantasy.

1. "One of the few". That's an odd statement. Almost all of us love the look and most in public seem to love it.
2. Elon said on JRE about the launch of the CT that "No one needs 500 miles. It's doable, but unnecessary". Just like the Plaid +, it's likely never coming.
3. A quad motor was never promised. Sure, it could happen, but it's also unlikely.
If a Quad "was never promised", how was I able to reserve one? Only about 2,000 people reserved a Quad before Tesla cut it off. Changing my reservation from a dual to a Quad caused a reset in my RN. Tesla says they will give me a Quad in February 2025. You and I will wait and see if Tesla can keep that promise. Honestly, I am not holding my breath. Chevy will probably bring out an eSilverado with 20,000 lbs. towing and 450 miles of range before Elon give me what he promised. Note. Chevy currently has the WT4 and RST out with 440 miles of range, as tested.

Over the years, I have learned Elon says one thing and then, later, contradicts it.

You guys are just jealous because you missed the invitation to reserve a Quad. However, you do not need to cry, because you know Tesla will eventually open the order book to let you get one, just like they have on all the other models. You will just have to wait until I get mine!

Note the difference in the Est Position and the Est Position for Trim. Tesla will make the Quad before they do the single motor. Of course, those positions were before Elon came up with the Foundation Series money maker scheme. My date, too.
You repeating the same thing doesn't change the truth.

Quad was never promised, 500 miles of range is "unnecessary" per Elon.

The CT has better real world range than the Model X. It's about the same as my 22 Model S at 80 mph.
You are looking at the CT range for the 2025 model year. Who knows what the range for the X will be in 2025? They could go back to the "Long Range" with over 400 miles ... I would love to go to EPA and cite the real figures, but Tesla has not certified the CT, yet. For the current CT without the "Range Extender", various testers have reported 260 miles of range.

I have run my X down to 5% at 305 miles.

I was so thrilled to get an invitation to order a CT Foundation that I immediately placed my order! After some reflection and mainly talking to my wife,
Like you, speaking to my wife almost had me on the fence. Was like a drug addict. Did not know if I was throwing my life away spending all this money. She had me on the verge of changing my mind. Her rationale made all the sense in the world, with thought provoking questions and statements from A-Z. You name it.
  • "What is the point?",
  • "Its too expensive!"
  • "We can use that money to do the bathroom for the kids"
  • "The fence needs fixing"
  • "More money for college!"
I had sleepless nights. But, once I regained conscienceless and said to myself. "I waited for this, since 2019! I have only had one other car and that was 16 yrs ago!! I knew I wanted the CT the very moment I placed my deposit down in 2019." Sure, this is not a wise financial decision and should not be treated as such. Despite my wife's advice, I pulled the trigger and brought it home to her surprise. "Happy now?" she said. Yep, I replied.

What followed the days after you would not believe! Took her for a ride, let her drive it. Next thing I know, she's asking if she could take it to church! She's taking photos! Loving the attention! I'm happy. The CT is not perfect, especially on the outside. There are things I wish were more polished, the sharp edges, the gaps, the very tiny mirror, which should have been a camera view to see the back. Could have had almost any other car/truck, but so far I am happy. It drives like a dream! The kids love it! And what I just found out, the battery in the CT is equivalent to about 7-8 powerwalls (which when priced w/ solar is over $70K). And, with powershare You can backup your home for 2-3 days on a power outage.

My mother once told me, 'Not all the money you spend will be for a good cause." And, like another poster said previously. Live is short. Is this not what you worked for? Enjoy those things that make you happy, for no one knows tomorrow!

"Good things come to those who wait, but only those things left by those who hustle!". (don't remember who said this).

Good luck with your 1 of 1 Quad motor with 400+ miles.

And Elon's letting me reserve a Quad is probably vaporware. Might explain why they removed the Quad option after two days. I will find out next February. Like others have said, I have waited this long, what is another few months?

Again, there was never a quad on reveal.

You have a 117 RN, lower than most here (most of us have the CT). At that time they stopped allowing a choice. Elon said the quad would be the first released (on Twitter, nothing official), but then said (same with the Semi) that it wasn't needed.

Your source code showing quad doesn't mean anything. Just like the original reservation holders of a single motor (also not being made, yet) were able to pick between dual and tri.

It's fine that you want to wait, but I think the push back is that Tesla promised a quad, because they didn't even acknowledge a Quad motor in an official capacity.

And there never was a Foundation Series "on reveal", yet there is one sitting on the floor of my local service center. That's right! Come to Reno if you want a FS and you can have it right now. No waiting. Me? Waiting for my Quad. Might be waiting a very long time ... Might also be why they sent me a FS invite - to get rid of the one on the service center floor.

In Reno, they have a parking lot about a mile from the Service Center where they have various Teslas ready for immediate delivery. There are several CT's in that lot.

Love that graphic you posted showing 500+ miles of range for the Tri, on reveal. See that guy in the middle? Liar, liar, liar ...

No. This has nothing to do with a 2025 CT or any future vehicle.

I'm comparing a drive that my wife and I took, both with 80% charge on the same road, following each other. The CT made it home with 56%, the MS with 42%...both tried to maintain 80 mph (there was a wreck, so not the average) at around 118 miles.

And the S is far better than the X.

I was shocked, honestly. I understand there are various factors, but the CT range keeps surprising me, even at speed. I still wouldn't tow with it.

Here in Reno, they are installing the Range Extender. I looked at a CT on the showroom floor to see how much room was lost. The RE sort of lies flat near the divider wall. I thought all FS included the RE?

You cannot buy a CT from that Tesla Center. Yes there are trucks there... but you are mistaken for units at the location for available inventory.

Cheers!
