Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Transfer Program

For a limited time, customers who take delivery of a new Tesla vehicle starting April 24, 2025 may qualify for transferring Full Self-Driving (FSD) (Supervised) from their current vehicle to their new vehicle.

If you transfer Full Self-Driving (Supervised) from your current vehicle to your new vehicle, your current vehicle will only have access to basic Autopilot features. If you would like to have Full Self-Driving (Supervised) features on both your current vehicle and your new vehicle, you can simply purchase Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for your new vehicle without participating in this offer.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this offer, you must:

• Have your new Tesla vehicle delivered on or after April 24, 2025, but before the program ends;
• Be the legal owner and registrant of the current vehicle with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) purchased outright until Tesla can remove the FSD (Supervised) from the vehicle (about 48 hours after delivery of your new vehicle);
• Have the current vehicle and the new vehicle on the same Tesla Account; and
• Agree to all additional terms and conditions prior to delivery of the new vehicle

Note: The Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Transfer Program is subject to change or end at any time and cannot be applied retroactively. FSD (Supervised) cannot be transferred from a Foundation Series Cybertruck, Model Y Launch Series or a vehicle under an active lease. Used vehicle, business and commercial orders are not eligible. The transferring vehicle cannot be the subject of a pending cancellation or buyback request or have any delinquent liens or balances. Additional terms and conditions apply and will be provided prior to delivery.

Tesla had a "one-time amnesty" for FSD transfer in 3Q 2023.

FSD transfer went away in 4Q 2023. Then there was a second phase of FSD transfer in 1Q 2024.

FSD transfer went away in 2Q 2024. Then there was a third phase of FSD transfer in 3Q 2024.

FSD transfer went away for 11 days at the beginning of 4Q 2024. Then there was a fourth phase of FSD transfer that lasted for the rest of 4Q 2024.

FSD transfer went away in 1Q 2025 -- so far.

Welcome to Phase 5 of FSD Transfer, running "for a limited time" in 2Q 2025. Since Phase 1 in 3Q 2023, FSD has come and gone repeatedly at intervals of one quarter or less.

Can we trade in a cybertruck yet?

Apparently not. Tesla has plenty of used S, 3, X, and Y in their inventory, and will be happy to sell you one. But Tesla will not sell you a used Cybertruck. That option does not exist at the inventory site at this time.

Seems like Tesla will eventually start accumulating used CTs, because people will be returning them after their leases expire. Maybe Tesla will also start accepting trade-ins at that point.

Oh, happy for those who can use it; I missed out, since I bought Mar 31st. I had been waiting as free FSD transfer would have made getting the CT a no-brainer, on top of all the other incentives.

This is what, the 5th time the FSD marketing incentive has been pulled out of mothballs?

If Tesla wants to increase deliveries they need to pull the CEO. I like Elon but he rubbing way too many potential buyers the wrong way.

For those of you planning to do it, one thing to note is you must be the current owner of your Tesla at time of delivery. If not, FSD will not transfer. When I took delivery, my delivery advisor showed me their system saying FSD transferred. I also got an email shortly after.

This is stipulated in the fine print but wanted to highlight it because when I researching it, I came across someone who sold their Tesla to Carmax the day before taking delivery, and he didn’t get FSD transfer.
