Same, but I bet SC will find nothing wrong with this.

Yep, took mine in for a couple things, this exact issue included, and they told me they could not recreate it happening…

That's cool and thanks for the info but it's not a matter of what the frunk is set to open to, it's getting stuck somehow. You hear it pop open but then it doesn't really open at all. Waiting a few seconds and trying again it opens all the way. As mentioned, it's inconsistent and doesn't always happen. I'll try recording it.
Yeah, my bad... i see that now. I am driving a 17k build vin, I haven't experienced this yet. Good luck!

I got mine back from the service center today. They made some adjustments to the latch because they said the logs showed that it was drawing too much current when it attempted to close. Prior to taking it in, every time it failed to open and close properly, I would text them the time so they could look through the logs and narrow their search.

Good thinking!! I’ll have to try that next time I take it in. Hasn’t done it in a while though.

Hey seems like I have the same issue but now it won’t hold the frunk down and now limits my truck to 24km/h. I sometimes push on it and press the close function to engage the latch and sometimes it works but when it does, it will pull the frunk down then release it back up. I have a service appointment but it’s like 2 weeks out. Really annoying. Following to see if there is a fix for this

I actually had a loose bolt on the hood, and it was catching. I tighten it up and it hasn’t happened since. There was a small scratch where it was catching on the plastic.

Its happened to me a few times. Only after the front end deer hit so I assumed it was a slight misalignment from that.
I recently found out my frunk is also supposed to hold about 15lbs without falling down and it can't even hold 5lbs without slowly falling. I don't know if those two things are related however.

Which bolt? Mobile service came today and took the frunk out to check the latch. They couldn't replicate and didn't see anything wrong. They were nice enough to schedule another visit to replace the latch for me.

I have that issue occasionally too. Figured I’ll bring it up someday when I get the appointment for the light bar.

I have this problem too. I caught it on video.

1. At one point, the ribbed cable and clamp on the left arm was rubbing against the center plastic piece after I got it back from service. It didn't keep mine from opening, but I wonder if you were to try to peek inside when this problem occurs, is this part getting caught?

2. Rubber seal is obviously hanging, but I doubt that would keep the frunk from opening.

Mine was one of the bolts that goes on the inside of the hood, around the edge. If that is the case, you'll see scratches on the plastic in the front where it's getting caught. I'm not sure how likely this situation might be for you, as I had removed the front stainless steel on the hood, to wrap it, and didn't tighten it back down all the way(Apparently). But bolts can still come loose, so I'd at least check it.

Mobile service came to fix my chair adjustment button.
I showed him the frunk being stuck video in the previous post. The tech agreed to replace frunk parts even though I couldn't replicate the issue to him in person.
this is the invoice for the replacement.
Opening frunk sounds totally different after the replacement. It sounds a lot softer now. It sounded like something got shot up very hard before.

Mine is starting to stick now, doesn’t open on the first press. And it’s all ways been surprising loud. Can you post a video of the quieter fix?
