Mine just started doing this too! Only happened twice so far, but I only rarely use the Frunk so may have been that wasMine is 100% identical. Did you get a fix for this?
Yeah, my bad... i see that now. I am driving a 17k build vin, I haven't experienced this yet. Good luck! That's cool and thanks for the info but it's not a matter of what the frunk is set to open to, it's getting stuck somehow. You hear it pop open but then it doesn't really open at all. Waiting a few seconds and trying again it opens all the way. As mentioned, it's inconsistent and doesn't always happen. I'll try recording it.
Good thinking!! I’ll have to try that next time I take it in. Hasn’t done it in a while though.I got mine back from the service center today. They made some adjustments to the latch because they said the logs showed that it was drawing too much current when it attempted to close. Prior to taking it in, every time it failed to open and close properly, I would text them the time so they could look through the logs and narrow their search.
Which bolt? Mobile service came today and took the frunk out to check the latch. They couldn't replicate and didn't see anything wrong. They were nice enough to schedule another visit to replace the latch for me.I actually had a loose bolt on the hood, and it was catching. I tighten it up and it hasn’t happened since. There was a small scratch where it was catching on the plastic.
1. At one point, the ribbed cable and clamp on the left arm was rubbing against the center plastic piece after I got it back from service. It didn't keep mine from opening, but I wonder if you were to try to peek inside when this problem occurs, is this part getting caught?I have this problem too. I caught it on video.
Mine was one of the bolts that goes on the inside of the hood, around the edge. If that is the case, you'll see scratches on the plastic in the front where it's getting caught. I'm not sure how likely this situation might be for you, as I had removed the front stainless steel on the hood, to wrap it, and didn't tighten it back down all the way(Apparently). But bolts can still come loose, so I'd at least check it.Which bolt? Mobile service came today and took the frunk out to check the latch. They couldn't replicate and didn't see anything wrong. Mine is starting to stick now, doesn’t open on the first press. And it’s all ways been surprising loud. Can you post a video of the quieter fix?Mobile service came to fix my chair adjustment button.
I showed him the frunk being stuck video in the previous post. The tech agreed to replace frunk parts even though I couldn't replicate the issue to him in person.
this is the invoice for the replacement.
Opening frunk sounds totally different after the replacement. It sounds a lot softer now. It sounded like something got shot up very hard before.
