New 2026 model, for the first few months the Frunk closed fine and latched. Now for some reason it gets to where the latch is and then pops back open. Like it's hitting the latch and just enough resistance is met for the safety function to over-ride and raise the Frunk lid. Has anyone run into this? I lubricated the latch mechanism but that didn't help.

It does close when I put downward pressure on the lid when it hits the latch.

Did someone fiddle with the bump stops? Maybe adjusted them too high?

CT’s have a known problem with the powered frunk latch, for some getting stuck, others not closing. You can try to adjust the striker, but if your truck is under warranty, probably best to ask Tesla to do it.

I doubt it's the bump-stops, as the latch motor can pull hard. I have mine adjusted pretty high, and can see the frunk lid flex as it closes lol.

Probably needs a latch adjustment, although I cannot find such a procedure in the Service Guide.

Mine has a 40% failure rate the first attempt, 2nd attempt is 100% success though so I just push the button again
