I'm still having lots of ignoring speed limit signs. At least it now gives me a blue mic button to tell them why I'm disengaging. Three times now it has totally ignored the 50, 45, and 35 MPH signs going into the town south of me.

Not sure what you mean by mode? I'm just using FSD 14.3.4 and have early adopter set for software updates. When I disengage, in the popup there is a blue mic symbol on it. I press the mic button and tell them why, then press the mic button again and it says it is sending it and the popup goes away.

I suspect somewhere along the way I was identified as a good source for training data due to my driving all over rural areas.

14.3.4 sucks! Driving in standard mode it’s constantly slowing down to the speed limit and even below. I have to keep nudging the accelerator pedal. I have the speed set to relative and +7 mph. Grok says FSD completely ignores that so what’s the point? Hurru mode is too fast. I just want to go 5-7 mph over the posted speed.

I had a model three loaner on my truck was in for the PCS Repair and the FSD was much tighter than on the cyber truck.

I’m also having a problem with the truck thinking that I’m towing when I’m not. I get the red tow icon on my screen intermittently.

Been experiencing the hesitation from stop when cars ahead are moving forward (like when the light turns green and that cars ahead star moving, and the CT just remains still).
I just tap the E-Pedal and get the CT going, and all is good, it’s annoying tho lol.

This, and the rear camera screen view not moving from the top of the screen onto the left side when opening an app.
Again, annoying but hopefully they’ll fix it….. sooner than later 🤞🤞

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant by mode is:
- sloth
- chill
- standard
- hurry
- mad max

I personally find standard to do very well with keeping up with traffic, going a little faster than the speed limit, but mostly on the back roads doing the speed limit and being very smooth.

We don’t call them ghosts anymore. We call them translucent individuals.

I've noticed this, too, with 14.3.4. Speed control is painful. On a road with a 60MPH limit, standard will slowly slow down to 60 or below, and hurry will accelerate to 74 or so. Like you, I want to go 66 or 67 MPH like the rest of the traffic. Didn't used to do this, so it's a regression for sure.

In town I usually use chill, and out of town standard. The ignoring of speed limit signs happens in any mode.

Fun bit. As of July 1st, Iowa now allows a maximum of 60 MPH on rural paved highways unless otherwise marked. Before the energy crisis in the 1970s it was 70 on 2 lane roads with 9' wide lanes with curbs rather than shoulders. There are a few stretches of paved road with the narrow lanes and curbs left. Many places there wasn't the room to put in shoulders so those sections of road only got their curbs removed and maybe a foot or two wider lanes. I've noticed 14.3.3 FSD di9dn't like driving even the speed limit on those narrow stretches with no shoulders. 14.3.4 aggressively slows to sub 50 MPH and doesn't like to be coaxed faster. I haven't yet gotten it on one of the 9' lane sections with curbs. The ones I know of are far off my normal routes now.

I see this too, but here it is better to drive at most 5 MPH over the limit in town, but at most only 3 to 4 over is more typical in small towns. In rural areas and 4+ lane highways marked with 55 MPH or faster speed limits people typically go a max of 5 to 6 over the limit. The state police have said on 55 MPH and under roads, 5 over the limit is allowed, and 60 MPH and above speed limits allow 10% over the limit. Drive any faster and you are courting a ticket. Always at most 5 over in construction zones unless the construction zone speed limit is the normal for that road section. They install portable Jersey barriers in those construction zones. If it is just cones, usually it is marked usually marked at least 10 MPH or more under the normal limit for that road section. Lane shifts may get speed limit reductions.

I'm not sure how the speed grace rules change in the marked increased enforcement areas. Pre 14.* I set a maximum of 5 over the limit even though the interstate sections are 65 MPH. There are ones going into Ankeny, Altoona, and West Des Moines. On ADS-B plots I often see airplanes doing loops over those sections of road. When I've driven through them when the aircraft are circling, the police are very thick and have multiple people pulled over.

FSD needs shared and personal local lore databases for helping select speed. I know many places in other states where 10 over the limit is the norm during commute times, and slower during non commute times. I also know places in a neighboring state where I would not do even 2 MPH over the limit. Even on the highway that bypasses the towns. Yeah, an over zealous county sheriff. What a shame. The county has some very fun narrow curvy roads.
