So periodically I think of driving situations that I wonder how FSD will handle. Like a stationary car parked on the curb that suddenly opens the drivers door just as CT is approaching. Or a minivan opening a driver side sliding door. Or a car parked parallel but facing the other direction pulling out as CT approaches.

Has anyone seen videos of these kinds of situations that FSD handled?

Yes. Dirty Tesla has the best of bad roads, but he does go into Detroit and Ann Arbor where there are people stepping out.

FSD now can identify parked cars and their orientation, and then responds if they start moving. It's not perfect yet, but it's pretty good.

There is even code for the car to fold its mirrors and squeak past tight spaces. It tries, doesn't quite do it, but it knows now not to hit things. So that's why it's still in beta.

It will pretty endlessly wait for workmen in the street, tho. AI can have alot of patience. That happened to Dirty Tesla last week. They just ignored him while FSD was waiting for them to wave it on.
