in the daytime?

I dunno about this rearview.

but It’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen an obviously digital screen lit up, and we’ve at this point seen tons of nighttime driving, interior ambient lighting, and all sorts of things that would seem as easily spotted as a digital rearview in active mode.

On one hand, given rearward visibility I’d be surprised it doesn’t have it. On the other hand, I’ve been plenty of surprised before!
Indicator light is always on in my vehicle. On the other hand, The mirror also doubles as a camera, so perhaps something to do with that.

fair point

would seem strange for Tesla to put an indicator light on the passenger-facing edge of the glass

Green LED on side of Rearview mirror! - aka actual screen! Was assuming this was in the plan but many other pics show a more traditional mirror!

That could be just the light refracted through the edge of the mirror glass.. possibly its a tree

Any thoughts on how the tail gate would open once a cap is installed on the box? I hope I don't have to use my phone to open it.

looks to me more like the glass edge illuminating from light passing through - like the edge of a glass coffee table

and what would be purpose of a ‘green light’ at the passenger-facing edge of the rearview?
Would appear to be a reflection considering its location.

I like the bottom-hinged accelerator pedal. Like a real truck! 😎
Better not be! Those things suck in stop and go traffic, when you can't rely on Traffic Aware Cruise Control to prevent EVERYONE from squeezing in in front of you.

Please give me a modern pedal I can operate from the top or bottom depending on the situation. Fire apparatus have the bottom hinged ones. I HATED them. 🤬

Would be very on brand to have customers use the camera feed on the infotainment display, at this point I'd be surprised of the contrary.

That looks like 3mm to me. When I saw the original prototype at the Petersen, the panels looked light gauge. Here are some photos.

Again, I'm liking the thick window glass.

Stuff like tailgate or frunk lid alignment don't bother me as much since they're supposedly adjustable, but I think employees need to take the fit and finish presentation of prototypes much more seriously nonetheless.

Overall some encouraging views.

The new model 3 comes with a blindspot detection light there. Would make sense if it's the same

Yeah I noticed that too. I wish all Teslas went to a floor-mounted throttle - it just feels more natural.
