No rearview video , I guess nobody was behind you !!!

I remember FSD stopping at a crosswalk, because there was a pedestrian standing by on the right side that I haven't noticed since I was looking at the car ahead of me, and the pedestrian was not really in my line of sight .

However the car behind me started honking at me, and decided to overtook me from the left lane and narrowly avoided striking the pedestrian.

Note: I would suggest when making such type of manoeuver, maybe performed by FSD or by doing it manually, to turn the flashing turn signals, so other drivers could be warned.

It really is. Hard to understand how society isn’t fully recognizing it for the enormous technological leap forward it is.
there is already enough actuarial data on it that certain insurance companies are using it to lower costs and the more cars have it, the safer everyone gets.
As a trauma surgeon who dedicates a fair amount of my life to undoing the effects of the damage roadways can do, I’m incredibly grateful.
Not a popular opinion in other circles but I will no longer buy a car without FSD. Period.
Let’s be honest amongst friends, Tesla’s are nowhere near the build quality of some of the most established brands, but it’s irrelevant.
Offer me a Porsche, maybach, skyline gtr, Land Rover or whatever…that’s not where I’m going to put my money. I’d take a model 3 over them.
To be fair- Tesla was never aiming to be the highest quality or bespoke vehicle. The quality was always meant to be “good enough” and “will get better”. They were always software first. The hardware just has to be good enough to operate the software (and pass regs) lol

That’s exactly right but as a consumer, I still would rather have the passable hardware with extraordinary software thereby proving that the vision was always correct. RJ and Rawlinson and company simply invested in the wrong things. Truth and consequence.

Don't want to rain on the fun, but in a scenario where you're in the left most lane leaving a gap like this is a great way to cause an accident if traffic to your right is flowing. Watch WhamBam on YouTube and you're sure to see a #closethegap accident. In this case I guess it's all good and the FSD behavior is impressive/human. I'm just not a fan due to the risk/reward.
agree. luckily I was in the right lane.

Theres a reason Tesla became a $1.67T company in 23 years, and i think it has more to do with taking an entire industry and turning it on its head, blurring the line between automobile and tech. They were always a tech/robotics company
Whose hardware happened to build cars. somehow successfully reengineering the entire “machine that builds the machine” to be as lean and high production as possible. Really high level vertical integrative thinking that was not novel, but way too high risk for any legacy manufacturer to take on. Its why they will all always follow rather than lead going forward. They cant absorb the risk that tesla can. It paid off BIG for tesla and investors.

Well said. I’m one of those investors and very grateful.

as requested the rear view. I guess I didnt even check it because I assumed that there wasnt anyone behind me, but there was. very impressed with the speed of the decision and the smoothness of the execution. we’ve come a long way from a million breaks as it creeps forward at a stop sign to turn right

and now another cool behavior from today, its two clips because I was surprised that it needed to do the same thing twice in quick succession (look at the runner).

I can't believe they let huge double buses on city streets that can hardly accommodate them.

Funny FSD is polite but the two drivers being let in/out couldn't throw a hand up thanking you!. LOL.
Were they supposed to thank driver or FSD
