I still can't quite understand the amount of people wanting to postpone so they can get the tax credit. I am above the income cap for the credit and the CT is certainly more than I should spend on a vehicle. If I was at an income level below being excluded from the tax credit, I wouldn't even consider a CT, until maybe the RWD is available.

Would you stop repeating falsehoods?

The legality of "no reasle" clauses in Purchase and Sale Agreements is not in question, these kinds of clauses are well established in case law governing contracts such as this and numerous manufacturers use them. The manufacturer of an item has the right to sell that item to consenting adults with conditions attached. This kind of agreement also has nothing to do with anti-trust law. Anti-competitive behavior would necessarily harm competitors like GM and Ford. If anything, the no-resale clause helps them or has little to no effect. It is not anti-competitive.

I've explained this numerous times, it's not an issue. If you don't like the terms of sale, don't purchase it.

You seem like the kind of guy that thinks he can buy a house in a homeowner's association that has a rule that you cannot park a motorhome in your driveway and, since he owns the house, he can park a motorhome in his driveway.

These kinds of people quickly learn that there really can be rules attached to the sale of an item, and that buying that thing requires you to agree with those rules. It's not illegal to have conditions attached to the sale.

You don’t understand why people who qualify for the tax credit want to wait for the tax credit? ?. A married couple can make up to $300k annually and still qualify. In your logic then a 299k-a-year house hold can’t afford the CT? And even if you can afford to drop the full amount for a FS CT, but had the ability to save $27.5k by waiting longer, you don’t see why some people would want to do that? Seems strange that you don’t understand

A married couple filing jointly can make up to 300k and get the tax credit. I think that's enough income to justify a 79k vehicle. Especially when its really 71.5k. And dont forget state incentives. CO is another $5000 off, so 66.5.

are you saying 300k is too low to justify a 66.5k vehicle purchase?

Suck it up, Buttercup. ;)
I cancelled my order. Last Tuesday. It’s too much money for me. When I first got on the list on reveal night , I chose a RWD model. $39k. Then they said the RWD would be the last to be put in production so I switched to a 2 motor AWD. That was going to be $49k.
No it’s $99k and about the same range as my BMW i3.
I just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger. Interestingly enough, they kept the $250 but refunded the original $100.
and it took about 30 seconds to get a message that the cancellation was completed.
I have my name on the Silverado list. We’ll see what that price is when it’s time for release.

Our service advisor has told me our Cybertruck is in Cali and should be ready for deliver anyday.

Anyone else getting cold feet on accepting delivery? Reviews seem to be mixed. I keep going back and forth.

Ive wanted this car since it was announced but what’s another year at this point right?

anyone else feeling the same?
I completely understand. I have a reservation but have not placed an order. The FS is not worth it IMHO. I was all set to go if the CT came in at the $60k to $70k range. Now I'm going to wait and see. As much as I want one, I don't really need it, so I can wait.

there are better things to do in the world instead of fulfilling the greed of corporations
Are you implying that every vehicle, product or otherwise is a result of greed? Or business in a capitalist (or any really) society? Even eggs turn a profit but you probably have better things to do than eat breakfast.
I'm staring at $50k cash sitting on a kitchen counter, and it does absolutely nothing for anyone. No excitement, no value, no quality of life. You trade it for things that do offer one or all of those things. I'd rather have a Cybertruck and a $50k loan. Just my opinion, everyone gets to do what they want with their time and money earned, no need to disparage what one chooses to do with either. What's the saying? What you eat don't make me sh!t?
There's only two irreplaceable things in life: time and life itself. Use them wisely.

The thing I hate the most about the Cybertruck was it blinding me to the value proposition of the Silverado EV and I wish I had jumped. Still getting the CT tho.

That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. But the value is undeniable.

Wealthy people do not buy unnecessary toys for emotional clicks. I have a small fleet of vehicles and they all have a purpose. Why are some of you that are techies buying a pickup truck ?

Spend the $120k on your family ...your future.

But Elon does appreciate the donation
How do you know they haven't spent $1million on their family? Two million? $120k doesn't even buy a worthless undergrad degree. Definitely the oddest equation of money, future, family, and some weird subset of "wealthy people." You should disclaim that you are not a financial advisor or something.

All I can see is the $270 it’d cost me in California diesel to fill that beast up!

Because techies can do home renovations and go camping or help friends move, etc.
Some techies also move their kids in and out of college and had to borrow friends pickups to do that last year. This techie also tows his atvs around to the trails and his jeeps 3500lbs towing capacity hasn’t been cutting it.

This. It's quite an interesting view, didn't think about that. I guess if you have zero debt, are under the income cap but still want a $100k truck, but pretty sure that's not what the credit was made for.

FSD is not worth $0 today. It actually has a lot of functionality and if I don't get it, my wife will kill me. She uses it all the time and enjoys the heck out of it.

It beats EVERYTHING else on the market today.

Same boat here. My wife wants the FSD and it is the main reason we go FS.

While I talked to her about this she wants to exit the waiting list she has on a rolex to trade the FSD lol. That’s shocked me.
