So you log onto TreasuryDirect.gov and cancel the reinvestments on a couple of 28-day T-Bills. A couple more weeks and those mature, sending the principal back into the checking account... and squaring up the opportunity that at present is floating around like a skittish butterfly.
The invite to config beckons like that girl who smiled at you back when you were fifteen. But the recent reports of nearly instant VINS and almost-as-fast deliveries gives you pause. So, yeah, gotta finish the T-Bill thing.
A visit two days ago to the local Tesla Service Center. To sit in the truck one more time. And to grab the VIN from that showroom model... which then gets sent to your insurance agent for a quote.
There's a pregnant few hours while you await a response. Most everything is transparent and known about buying a Cybertruck, of course. But insurance is a wildcard. One that could derail everything else. So you wait. And breathe a sigh of relief when the answer finally comes back.
The new breakers for the main panel and sub panel come in. The Tesla Wall Connector which has done yeoman duty on your Model 3 isn't going to be fast enough when connected to a Cybertruck. The CT is half as efficient, which means everything will take twice as long. Unless you double the amperage, of course. And so that's what you do.
And Amazon will be delivering the SnapPlate tomorrow. It's okay to ignore the front plate on an innocuous, doesn't-stand-out sedan like the Model 3. But the Cybertruck will get a studied glance from every law enforcement person it happens to come anywhere close to. It's gonna have to wear that front bumper ornament for awhile.
Tain't much more to do other than wait for those T-Bills. Still on the fence on a Foundation Series vs the soon-to-be non-FS models. Don't believe there's a wrong answer there. Just different puts and takes.
One way or another, sooner or later, it's coming.
P. S. When I visited the Service Center to grab the VIN, this was the first thing I saw.
