Pedestrians can be hard to see. If a vehicle proceeds when a pedestrian is in the road, other moving vehicles may not see the pedestrian. They may believe the roadway is clear because you are moving. The pedestrian may be struck by these vehicles. Regardless that the pedestrian is either stupid, distracted, crazy, a child, or whatever, one should never proceed into an intersection with a pedestrian. People do not deserve to die just because they cross a roadway "wrong". Maybe you did not hit them, but they are endangered by your actions. Btw, this is murder in my city, and it is enforced.

Assuming you have a properly formatted USB drive installed, your car is always recording a 1 hour loop of video. You either honk the horn, use a voice command or tap the dash cam icon and it saves the prior 10 minutes to the event folder. If you are in an accident with sufficient force, it will automatically save a clip. Reasonable assumption the driver honked at the pedestrian to save that clip, incredibly unlikely that anything saved it automatically, since there was no impact.

Near collisions and "interesting" events aren't saved, but if you act quickly (i.e. within the hour loop), you can find the event in the recent clips folder and save it manually.

Yes, Thank You for reminding us how to record an incident of interest. You are correct this must be done by the driver, and the length of time for the recording is 10 minutes back and an additional 25 mins after you manually initiate the recording. It's not 10 secs like i previously thought its 10 mins. unless there is an actual collision with enough force to make the air bags deploy. Don't expect the video to automatically be saved. I was hoping to hear from the driver himself if he knew that honking would save the incident. or was it just serendipitous.
Curious to see if he made a conscious decision to capture this or did, he even know that honking would do that for him.
I Guess I was expecting to have a more sophisticated system of video documentation integrated into a machine that can drive FSD and relies on video for vision and decision-making while being part of a fleet of cars that all play a part in contributing for improvements of current and future models learning from those rare edge cases that would only be encountered by getting us out on the road with the cars. A task that would be critically dependent on good visualization of the surrounding environment and data provided mostly by good video information. So, considering these needs I expected to have a more complete robust and fool proof method of capturing the interesting and review worthy events.

Stopping in the crosswalk was also not appropriate. So it looks like a set up by the driver.

Dude you see him crossing the road, pedestrians always have right of way. You should have waited for him to cross regardless of his complete lack of attention to the traffic signals. Yes he’s completely spaced out, but be responsible and keep everyone out of harms way. Situations like this are best dealt with through patience and just letting it go. It’s not that difficult.

They didn't stop in front of the pedestrian.
The vehicle doesn't stop until after the kick.
They may have slowed slightly which isn't a bad thing when you notice a pedestrian Jay walking from the opposite side that traffic would approach from on a one-way cross street.

At least three vehicles before the Cybertruck had proceed though the intersection, at least two on green arrow. Pedestrian had red.
Vehicles had right of way.

Thats not what I see...

I see the moron pedestrian outside of the crosswalk, and since I actually own a Cybertruck, from the rear of the rearwheel to the edge of the bumper is 26" exactly. From what I can tell, the rear of the CT isn't even in the crosswalk, and if so, no more than an inch or so.
