The passenger side is messier
The Cybertruck might make it look like a minor accident to some armchair insurance adjusters, but that's just because the body panels don't crumple like a tuna can. The windshield is shattered, there is some rear body damage and the rear wheel is hanging at an odd angle. The steering rack looks totalled, probably the front suspension mounting points, the front air suspenders, the cooling system and cabin HVAC is totalled, probably the dashboard, the airbags deployed (which requires replacement of a bunch of interior trim), the seat belt pre-tensioners would have deployed their explosive charges, these are all the signs of a totalled vehicle, especially post-covid. And there is also a bunch of high-dollar stuff bolted to the firewall that is probably totaled. Oh, yeah, probably the firewall is smashed in too.I don't think it is totaled, the front end crumbled just as it should. I'll be battery and motors are fine. There doesn't seem to be any interior damage or damage past the frunk. Hopefully we will hear more about the outcome. As stated above. no one hurt, it did its job.
I like this. But to be honest, the longer stopping distance of a truck is just an incremental lengthening. I suspect the real problem is the high perch removes some sensation of speed, the solid cabin and chassis and those big 35" tires isolates the driver further from the sensation of speed, while providing a sense of security, and the quickness with which it can add speed without the roar of an ICE engine or frantic downshifting of gears, creates the illusion of just being on a casual Sunday drive when actually barreling down a city street at deceptive speeds.PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
TRUCK HEAVY.
IT GO FAST.
IT TAKE LONG TIME STOP.
(I know they accelerate like a sports car, but people ... please stop treating these trucks like they also handle and stop like a porsche. I know they are fast; but please learn to drive a truck safely before just ripping them through the city streets.)
where's the video?I wonder who ran the red. Could be either, from these photos.

what all that wet stuff on the ground on the left side?I don't think it is totaled, the front end crumbled just as it should. I'll be battery and motors are fine. The coolant system is destroyed. It's coolant.what all that wet stuff on the ground on the left side?
Oh, the humanity! I just can't.Cybertruck head on crash with traffic light post in Savannah, GA. The driver was OK, but obviously the CT is totaled. This looked to be a very new delivery since you can still see delivery papers on the floor.

The wheels are designed to push outward in a frontal crash. You don't want to share the passenger compartment with a wheel/tire!That's what I thought until I saw the passenger side. Both wheels are bent/sheared, probably from colliding with the other vehicle.
They're designed to sheer, which would indicated just how good the exo and crash zones of the tesla are transferring momentum through itself.Something about this image doesn't seem right to me. Those poles are made to sheer off, especially with the amount of damage and the weight of this vehicle. I'm wondering if it struck something else first very hart then continued over to hit the pole. This pole should be on the ground.
