Darn CO requires side view mirrors. It doesn't state camera will suffice. And agree wouldn't want to get sued.
But you can, however, use whatever designs that actually fit the definition of a mirror according to your state. Some just say "a mirror" some specify size of the mirror or capability. You can use that to your advantage.

If my quick search for the Colorado law yielded accurate results:

"(1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a mirror or mirrors so located and so constructed as to reflect to the driver a free and unobstructed view of the highway for a distance of at least two hundred feet to the rear of such vehicle.

Sure, the definition includes " 200 ft", but it's still very vague. It doesn't specify they you must be able to tell the difference between a car or a semi truck. So technically you can but a dime sized mirror so long as it meets the vague definition above. Right?

Basically what I'm saying you can hack vague laws to pieces with pedantry lol.

Well if your State requires them,I would not want to be in a position of getting sued in an accident for not having them. Particularly if there is serious injury. Those ambulance chasers look for anything to favor them in litigation.
This. People are shitty, sorry but true. The US isn't as bad as some other places for insurance fraud, but it's still pretty bad here. Don't place yourself in a disadvantageous position, or make yourself a target, against these types of scum.
