I wish that was true, but its simply not. No one is getting through these laminated windows unless the have an axe, or the windows are at least partially opened.

But I don't want to hijack this thread, I also would love to see a Breezer window installed.
This is not true. Axes aren't the appropriate method to get through laminated glass. Once the glass is cracked, it begins losing stiffness. Hence a kick to bend it outward.

Trying to get in is far more difficult, because presumably there's passengers and a more constrained space on the far side. As well as the collision resistance in the vehicle frame around the window.

And I would love to see Breezer's solution up close! It's one of the mods I'd be most interested. I love fresh air.

If your truck is starting to smoke or filling with water you may not be able to shatter the windows to escape. This will allow you to escape from the cabin (if you are not overweight) and die inside the locked vault with dignity. Just kidding, camping in the vault with AC would be the best use case.
Why not just break the side windows? They are designed to break 'easier' from the INSIDE and then you can push them out in (mostly) one piece and climb/crawl out... of course you need something to break it with (I have a special tool that cuts seat belts and has a hardened tip for breaking windows).

@Crissa @DJAlan2000 I challenge you guys to show any videos or evidence of it being an easy task to break and push out a laminated window in an emergency. You will find a lot of videos to the contrary, I've looked.

I want it to be true, but everything I've seen points to it being futile.

It's not easy, but it's definitely doable. Make sure to focus force on the seam, not the middle of the pane.

I realize that this window was partial rolled down, but this should demonstrate the possibility, and confirm that once cracked it can keep going.

Yeah I mentioned that. I do not think any soul will ever escape through a laminated glass window in an emergency by themselves. I guess we can just agree to disagree.

My last comment on the laminated glass topic:

With enough time and the right tools you might be able to escape through a laminated window. But you will not have that time in a fire or underwater. See this comment from a firefighter on a YT video:

I'm a firefighter and I just watched a video of a Tesla that crashed into a pole, it was on fire, and the driver was trapped behind the laminated glass. Scary situation.

The first in crew that responded had a firefighter try to break the glass with a conventional window punch device, that didn't work. Then he tried smashing it with some forcible entry tools, that didn't work either.

The driver ended up dying. It took 45 mins to extinguish the flames and 15 mins to get the car doors open. It's 1:32AM and I'm now making it my mission to figure out an effective way to get around this situation if I ever have to pull up to a similar car accident.

So why didn't they break the rear window or use the manual release for the front door?

There are all sorts of reasons why doors cant open or certain windows cant be accessed in a accident. It could be water, a tree in the way, a collapsed roof, the vehicle against a wall, or a million other things. The nearest window/door is always going to be the most likely accessible exit.

Here are a few examples captured on video to spark your imagination/nightmares.

1) SUV on fire, a dozen people couldnt help him get out until someone broke through the window

2) Car in water, they break the window to help the passenger escape.

3) Car on fire, door smashed and stuck.
