and before that he’d said…
Only worried about what he said the most recent. But MOST IMPORTANTLY is what will he say in September at the delivery event? :)

I AM NOT ELON. Ok, I've said quite a few different things, but here it is: Quad is first, then tri, then dual, single motor will be last. By December, I'll be producing all four variants.
I'm NOT Elon.
Thanks for the clarification Elon..

Now that there’s four motor out in the market I’d say it’s a solid that you can expect to see a 4 motor as part of the release maybe even a couple trims at launch : 4 motor to beat all the competing specs at limited numbers and then lesser motors to help with the initial ramp efficiency/utilization?

can you cite that? I believe he said Tri.
Dual motor was the target at the launch event. Remember, the Plaid hadn't shipped yet, so the software wasn't ready.

Later, after a quarter million reservations came in, he said the outsized demand for the Tri meant it needed to come out concurrently. Also the delay.

A year after that, mention of a quad-motor variant as the first model happened.
