Imagine a nearly maintenance free Jetski. And when it needs to be recharged, just plug it in to your CT.

The one thing that made me sad about Nikola going down...the one thing...was they had a cool jet ski concept.

Just looked at link, would suit the CT nicely. Price though is .

I'm not a big watercraft person (my rule of thumb is never to get farther from shore than I can swim back) but I think an electric pontoon boat would be a real winner. You could put solar panels on top to recharge the battery and shade most of the deck. Using an electric jet drive would prob be the way to go.

Am I somehow misreading the fact that it's $56k base price??

There are a ton of electric pontoons in my area. We have a bunch of small residential lakes that are limited to electric. Now, technically this ski would be legal, and would be a bunch of fun to piss everyone off.

I bought a jetski back in 1998. I loved it, except it basically dumped oil in the water and the noise it generated could be pretty obnoxious. I'd love to have a silent, eco-friendly E-ski. Think of the mind-blowing torque it would have, you could probably tow a house with it (or rip your arms from their sockets when you took off full throttle) ;)

If a jetski isn't your cup-o-tea, how about an electric hydrofoiling watercraft? https://candela.com/candela-c-8/
From their site:

Candela C-8 has a range of 50+ nautical miles per charge travelling at 24 knots. The achieved range is about 4 times longer than the best electric boats currently on the market.

Curious... Once you get 50 nautical miles out to sea, how are you supposed to get back?

Haha, I thought the same thing. Maybe they have a built-in sail option? :ROFLMAO:
There is a video on their site that includes a foil sail boat.

Now if I could get a boat with about as much room as the Candela, with the foils, with the sails, and was fully electric, THAT would be a boat to lust after.

In the FAQ there is the following question:

  • What motor and battery do you use?
    Candela C-7:
Battery: 40 kWh lithium ion NMC battery pack (from BMWi3).
Motor: 70 kW for take off, 16 kW in 23 knots, 37 kW full speed.
BMW batteries getting recycled for the boat... I wonder what this boat could do with a 4280 battery pack and Tesla motors.

It’s easy to drive the quad into the bed, not do with a jet ski.
With boat mode, just back down the ramp till the jetski can slide into the back.
