I did an ACH 3 day prior to pick up, $129,687.52 no fee, I did not want to fly and ride with a cashier's check, GA requires a 3-day prior settlement.
watch the videos in the APP, I did have a salesman go thru most of the operations of my Cyberbeast, but he was limited.
its basically, here is the vehicle, go out and inspect it, come back inside and sign a few papers and your off.
every walk into an APPLE store, it's basically the same run by kids

I can confirm: Texas does not permit direct sales, so you must "purchase" the vehicle in California and have it delivered here. Fortunately, it's already here lol, but it must be paid in full, in California, prior to delivery. (I FedEx'd the bank check from my auto loan that covered most of it, and used Plaid for the remaining amount.)

In fact, you must also have the vehicle insured before delivery (they can give you the VIN) so that Tesla can submit the registration paperwork on your behalf. You can skip this step, but then you must submit the paperwork yourself and the plates will be delayed.

And yeah, it was super-weird buying and insuring a vehicle I'd never even laid eyes on, but that's the law. Write your Senator.

Do you know how the title is handled? Do I have to do anything to get it or does it come automatic.

I financed my Toyota just to get the $500 finance credit and paid it off the next day but then I had to make phone calls to Arizona to toyota financial to release the lien and ended up a lot of work and took several months to get my title.

Im not financing here but since you say im making the purchase in California, I wonder if I have to jump thru the same hoops
My title is still owned by the bank  🤷‍♂️

I thought there was an option to do the registration yourself and avoid the fee that Tesla tacks on to do it. I'm quite sure I toggled that option to do it myself but the Tesla store did it themselves anyway. I got my title and registration a little over a month after I took delivery of my CT. This was a cash deal for me. No bank involved.

Texas is way different, so your buying experience will not have much applicability.
