How long do you think it would take to get a CT if you reserved from scratch today?

I was about 250,000 in line from my reservation. I was thinking that I would get it at the end of 2024. Got the foundation series 3 weeks ago.

I am assuming that about 25,000 Cybertrucks were built. Once the Foundation series ends they will go back through the list starting at the beginning. Lets assume they are going to produce 200k cybertrucks a year at the beginning of 2025. With over 2 million reservations that would take about 10 years to go through them all. Say half drop out which is possible. Then it would be 5 years form today if you ordered now.

That is just my assumption. 5 Years.

late 2025 would be my guess. Maybe sooner if they keep the Foundation pay to play option going into next year along with the regular versions.

Looks like a continued divergence in answers. Curious if anyone first hand in this forum actually started the process this year and then wound up getting the CT this year as well. If so, please let us know and go into detail what your experience was!
I ordered the RWD in June of this year, won't have it till next year it says.

I placed a reservation on Delivery Day (Nov 2023). Invited to configure and placed my reservation on 5/31/2024 and picked up my AWD on 6/10/2024....

....BUT...

...I also requested my order be accelerated through the Long Term Sharedholders program and supplied supporting documents in mid-March. I don't think that program currently exists nor does the accelerated delivery for referral points (aka "influencer program").

So for a reservation (not an order) placed today I'd guess 2026 delivery is more likely. In fact, I placed two reservations on Delivery Day 2023, could only accelerate one. The other is still pending and I don't expect to hear anything about that until Q4 of 2025.

There aren't any divergent answers. You *may* be able to get a Foundation series if you place an order now, but there aren't any guarantees.

If you want the non-FS, and if you place an order today, I'd be surprised if you get one in 2026. Likely 2027.

We know that 2024s are all accounted for (as they are Foundation series). There is a massive backlog so all 2025s would go to those with an earlier reservation. If you make a reservation today, I bet you are looking at 2026 at the earliest, assuming Tesla ramps up as fast as we hope.

WAY more than half of reservations will drop out, foundation series or not. It’s a refundable deposit.

First people said FS would be limited to 1,000. Then people said FS would be limited to 20,000. Then people said FS would stop on 7/1. They were all wrong, all the time. Stop listening to FUD.

I have a second reservation from Dec 2019 and still haven't received an invite for that. I know they are limiting invitations for FS to multiple reservation holders, but they fooled me once, why not fool me again? Fingers crossed.

You'll get it this year or 1Q25 if you accept the FS invite.

For Tesla, the best-selling cars are 3 and Y, and maybe some other affordable models in the future. But after the initial rush for the Cybertruck settles, its demand will probably be lower than that of the S and X unless there's a big breakthrough in battery technology that can truly replace ICE trucks for towing and range for real truck work.
The Cybertruck is already a "real work truck", it's just that you bought into the false narratives being pushed by those trying to position it as only having limited appeal. Try doing this with an an F-150 Lightning or Silverado or Hummer or Rivian and you will be in for a rude awakening:

Yes, that's 21 rounds filling every available inch of the bed (and I didn't have to accommodate pesky wheel wells). Even when hauling lumber, concrete blocks, furniture, etc. those pesky wheel wells of my F-150 are always in the way. As far as towing, most work-related towing is local in nature. Cybertruck makes an excellent towing rig for contractors. It's a real work truck with towing and payload capacities greater than the most popular configurations of ICE 1/2 ton trucks. And when loaded to its rated limit, the Cybertruck handles and drives better than ICE trucks loaded to their (usually smaller) limits.

I'm quite confident the sales of Cybertruck will quickly surpass that of S&X combined, and remain higher as far as the eye can see. Watch and see. That's how good of a vehicle it is. F series may have sold around 900,000 trucks per year for the last several years but those numbers include all F-series trucks and vans, Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 pickups, F-450 and F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600, F-650, and F-750 commercial trucks. So it's a meaningless number.

I'm basing my opinion that Cybertruck will outsell S&X combined mostly on my 3-month ownership experience and on my assumption that the Dual Motor Cybertruck will be able to be sold profitably at the $79K price point. All the other electric pickups cost more to manufacture than they can be sold for.

Asking for a friend... Anyone get a CT in a short term by starting the ordering process recently?
You won't get a Cybertruck quickly if you order now, but one thing's for sure: If you don't order now, you will be at the back of a large line when you finally place your order. In other words, the sooner the better.

It's only $250 and is fully refundable so, other than the interest on that $250, you have nothing to lose.

So far it appears as if less than 20,000 have been built. That's from the VINs and recall data.

Tesla only as the manufacturing capacity for 125,000 trucks next year. That's what's in the quarterly/annual reports.
