I received a VIN within 24 hours of my order. I've seen reports of people getting VINs within hours.

You’ll find since there are so many of these topics now that the majority of users since 10/04/24 non-FS got their VIN almost instantaneously with a couple outliers waiting 24-48 hours. There have been one or two extreme examples of it taking longer, but in those cases I think you need to reach out to Tesla Delivery via the app.

It absolutely is normal.

Assignment of a VIN means that a vehicle has to be available for you. That means that it is either on the Delivery Center's lot or that it has been earmarked out of the factory for your Delivery Center.

If you don't have one yet, no one really knows when you are going to get it.

Early this year is was often over a month or two between order and VIN.

I ordered my CT 10/4 and received Vin# in less than a week.
Tesla message me my car will be coming to all the way to Hawaii between 10/25 - 11/1 estimated, but I check with Tesla store and checked Vin#, the CT is still in Texas. Can't wait for my early Chrismas gift
