I realize this is a minor gripe, but I find the frunk button above the bumper hard to access. For some reason the angle you have to put your fingers at in order to press it is not very ergonomic. This is also true for my family and for guests that I have in the car, so I don’t think it’s unique to me.
It doesn’t seem to come naturally to anyone.
I still fumble with it all the time despite having lots of “practice” and find it easier to just stand there with my phone and wait for the auto-open beeps.
Have any of you found a way to makes it more useable. A stick on extension maybe? A better technique than putting your finger in there and trying to find it? Something else?
Please share if you have solved this.

Get a front plate, aim for the middle? Helps a bit with practice, but agree it’s a terrible location and isn’t natural to anyone I’ve seen without practice. Auto open is just as bad - a video based auto open + phone key would have been awesome so it immediately opens when it sees you walking with an aim point towards the frunk from the side or front . If it can predict vehicle collisions, it could predict footpaths with phone keys that are aiming toward the right area.

Really just mailed in that design choice, copying gasoline trunk button locations. Until a true smart auto open, I would like to see someone relocate the button to the front left fender.

You will get accustomed to the location quickly enough. At first I would fumble around looking for the button and now my fingers go right to it.

I agree, there is something about the location, angle, and shape of the frunk button that makes it hard to find every time. Of course, it's a very minor thing that probably gets improved by Tesla over time.

I was hoping that someone may have come up with a stick-on piece which makes pressing it down on the bumper outside the frunk lid possible or something of that nature . Or maybe a relocation kit as someone else suggested above.
It’s not “necessary” as pointed out, but I think having an actually pressable button would be nice.

Extension to allow bumping with your knee?
Fascia camera + software could allow for kick/ foot swipe motion activation (but that may be patented?)

I'd understand this complaint within the first few weeks of ownership, but I've had my truck for almost a year and the button is fine now.

I don't think the standing in front of the frunk to open is useful. It takes too long.

Not really a complaint per se. just always looking for a way to make the truck better/more useable. I have to explain repeatedly , use the screen/app or physically help anyone else that wants to open the frunk but me.

The kick swipe is a pretty good idea. Maybe it is patented and that’s why they don’t do
It.

That’s actually hilarious. Only one finger to open the frunk though

It was a bit odd at first but once I got it, well, I got it. That being said, I usually open the Frunk from the screen OR my app and sometimes more rarely by proximity! I feel the physical button is more of a backup than the main design use scenario.
