I know a lot about these other options, like CarPlay, but I think the critical question is what will work with the automated features of FSD. (Pull into driveway, open garage door and park in spot.) My understanding is that FSD will only work with MyQ. Can anyone confirm?

Ah, found a video: FSD 14 Home Garage Parking Video

A door simply needs to be open and a parking spot clear.

Homelink works as it's hardware installed in the car (not available for the CT), but other options will not.

I have both too. In what way is it superior other than being able to tell you the door status (open or closed) ?
Well, for starters - one $300 ten-year subscription purchase works for all our cars. Not just the one the homelink box gets added to. The fact that homelink doesn’t know the status of the door is beyond annoying. I can’t tell you how many times it would close the door when I’m working in the garage and my wife or daughter came home.
We have rock solid internet and only have had maybe one or two issues with myq, but I wouldn’t get the homelink module for the truck if they offered it after using myq since they integrated it. I had already been using it for HomeKit integrations - so Tesla adding it made it even easier for me to buy into.

So it's just the door status.

Homelink is faster, allows you to stop the door mid sequence, has no wait period after opening or closing and for the S/X, it's free.

I can also share the control for doors with friends, family, etc, Amazon in garage delivery, etc
There are plenty of other reasons, but sure. Let’s go with ā€˜So it’s just the door status’
Anyway, my opinion that the myq solution is superior stands. Wonderful thing, opinions, right?

Homelink is an industry standard and is more widely accepted. Handles gates (myq generally doesn't), multiple doors better, and is universal.

People just want the option. Some even use both at the same time on TMC
