I have 2 early CT orders. Will we get to pick quad/tri/etc come time? Or are we locked in?

Hello everyone,

First post, this may have already been covered, but I am wondering what our abilities to select a Quad, tri, or dual motor come production time. I have an early reservation, for both a dual and a tri. The quad was introduced after the fact, and may be the first to be produced. Do we think that Tesla will roll through the preorders to offer reservation holders to change specs to line up with needs? Or will we be locked in to our original preorder spec? I also could have sworn I selected FSD, but I don't see any reference to that in my reservation details... does that mean I didn't select it? At the time of ordering it was touted as "locking in" the FSD price by reserving it at the time. Does that mean I am SoL?

I have 2 orders RN112762XXX RN112775XXX which I believe puts me pretty high up on the list. I am hoping to get an early spot. I am catching up on all these rumored changes. Curious what the sentiment was around these early orders and what it means comes production time.

I’ve read in prior posts, from Tesla owners, that Tesla enabled them to specify their vehicle at the time of order, regardless the reservation.

Since $100 bought the e-tecket for any Cybertruck, it doesn’t preclude a CT3 change to CT4 or CT1 at time of order. The MSRP totals will knock your socks off but you will make a decision at order submission to submit a deposit amount.

CT1—CT4 delivery times may not vary as has been alluded. I don’t think, IMHO, the difference in wait times will be measured in years. There is ample evidence that numerous caveats surface as a CT whack-a-mole game emerges creating negatives for Tesla. Elon never intended CT4 to be a Big Spender’s to front of queue device, for example.

Interesting. I am a share holder and previous early Model 3 owner. I am not too worried about the price considering my shares are in at a $50 price point... I would spend what I feel is appropriate or worth it to me. As anyone should when it comes to any purchase. I fully expect this to be competitive with the current market. I do not expect the price to be what was shown in 2019. Nobody should expect that. I expect the top end to easily be $100K+, and it likely should be. Considering what it will be, and the second hand market abuse that is sure to follow. We will see these selling for more than the Hummer EV was pulling ($300k in some auctions). Tesla should price these accordingly.

I am sure that will upset some, but it is what it is. I assume the "entry" trims to be competitive with the entry R1T. That makes the most sense. We shall see of course

Historically, when your pre-order number comes up, you get a call. Check the confirmation email to verify your FSD selection.

I am certain that Tesla will prioritize based on distance from the factory.

Definitely for the first couple months, but not beyond that.

Depends on whether they do a Plaid-style release with vetted owners or a GigaTexas-Y-style soft release where they select some reservations as beta testers.

Dear Gus,

Please consider Your close neighbor to the North. I would like my CyberTruck in Denver early. I would most certainly come down to the factory to get it.

Right. But! The factory is on the 'Colorado' River. You see. So... It sounds like Denver is higher up on the list than CA. You gotta look deeper
Yeah but our 'Colorado' actually has water in it

It makes the most sense to embarrass FORD F-150 Lightning. FORD bet the company on the F-150. FORD brought a lot of Customer Intel to the innovation it built into its product. F-150 remains Elon’s gauntlet for the Cybertruck.
We should see Cybertruck aim to deliver on pricing, performance, range, specifications and quality. AND by deliver I mean SteveJob’s definition “exceed expectations”! After all Elon laid the gauntlet. Cybetrtruck is going up against the #1 pickup truck over 47yrs running in America. Its motto is “Quality is Job#1” and tagline on every picture of its pickup is “Built FORD tough”.
Rivian got to Elon, hence the Tri-motor CT got jacked over for a Quad Cybertruck. That’s on EM, Tesla keeps focus, scores Cybertruck against the F-150 Lightning, the rest is Humblebrag for Elon‘s Cyber Roundup. People want to buy all the motors money can buy - they purchase to eliminate downside-regret. I understand. But this game EM started. And moving goalposts won’t be retrieved until his gauntlet is claimed.
UPDATE: Post Shareholder Mtg - Cybertruck pricing will not remain as stated in 2019 per EM
