I was about #735k in line and I received my invite to configure

So - I placed my original reservation in May 2020. According to the site’s reservation tracker - I was like #735k in line

I just received my invite to configure a foundation series Cybertruck which says it would be ready between August and September this year. I was expecting years away…

While I was waiting - I bought a Model Y. If I proceed with ordering the truck, I would likely trade that in. But - during the order process - I don’t see an option to list a trade in. Just cash or finance and pay a $1000 deposit.

so my questions are (for those that have ordered):
1. Can I change my amount of cash down later when financing if I am not sure how much I want to finance?

2. will the trade in option come later?

then I need to see if the truck will fit in my garage and decide if I want it now or hope the price comes down and order later…

you can change the amount financing or add a trade later after ordering. none of that really matters right now until you get closer to the actual delivery

Trade in opens once you accept the FS invite. most likely you want to wait to complete that task till you receive a VIN or you will find yourself repeating the process every 30 days or so.

I received my vin on May 7th and still no delivery date yet. Keep in mind I pad my balance right away and placed insurance the same day I received my vin and it didn’t really expedite anything. Instead I’ve been paying insurance for a vehicle I don’t even have yet.

My advice, wait for insurance for when a pick up date is received.

Such a similar situation. I had put a deposit down on another car because I thought the cybertruck was going to take years and I was in need of a new car. My invitation came the day. I was going to go by the other car. Close call!

Based on your estimates, over 8 million CT's have been ordered, since were' now at 121XXX...that or it's actually not your place in line.

It's literally EVERY SINGLE TESLA ORDERED, not just CT.

So silly this post type keeps getting repeated over and over.
