When I got the CB 4 mo ago, I did not have the front windshield tinted. Rock damage is horrible in our area. One of the big factors in purchasing a beast with Luxe package (besides SC, FSD for life and the 2.6 sec “rocket” mode ) was free windshield replacement once a year for the next 4 years, and a small deductible if one needs another. Am a believer in XPEL+ but it’s big $$$, so I had 10% applied only to side windows in spite of most state laws saying that level could only be used on rear ones. In the bright TX & AZ sun, It looked awesome from the outside. However, driving safely at night was a different matter. FSD use became mandatory because I literally could not see anything beside people’s headlights & lighted obstacles. Twilight periods were even worse, since other vehicle headlights were not on! Reflections off the glass staring back at me inside the vehicle, was especially distracting. The next day I took the truck back into my tint shop and paid to have the front Pax & Driver windows tint reduced to 25%. The little wing windows were kept at 10%. That makes my lighter front window tint level barely noticeable. For me this has been the perfect compromise,, especially with our black roof shade that stays installed all Summer. I recently had the truck in for Service and got a CT loaner. Sitting down in it the first time that morning, I was shocked how bright it was inside. Literally I felt like I was in a fish bowl,, squinting most of the time!

There's moments where the internal reflection makes it impossible to see out at all with the extreme angle
My only experience is with XPEL but because I'm so satisfied with its performance, I never felt any desire to try 3M or LLumar. These 3 seems to be the top dogs in the tint industry for heat and total energy rejection.

That being said, and also I dont have dark tint - 70 on the front and 45 all around, nothing on the glass roof - I never experienced any glare or reflection form the inside with XPEL XR Plus. Maybe it's the tint darkness artifact as 3M supposed to be very good

Is that XPEL any better than 3M ceramic? I have 50% on front and 5% on sides. Is the XPEL as reflective on the interior as 3Ms? There's moments of driving into the sun where the internal reflection makes it impossible to see out at all with the extreme angle. Good thing the camera has no tint in front of it.
ive got xpel on mine 70% vlt on the windshield and 50% on the sides, and felt a difference. my first car with aftermarket tint so I cant really compare.

It covers the actual dash but leaves the fabric area uncovered. I have a velour dash protector coming so I am not concerned about that area being exposed. It‘s super convenient to install and remove.

Being that the sunshade was designed for a Mercedes Sprinter van shows how gargantuan the CT windshield actually is.

I use the Basenor. It works great and makes itself smaller. I do caution that it takes a bit to learn how to properly fold it, it’s big, but that is just because the windshield is, you know, HUGE!

The price is fair, and it’s an extra assurance that I will keep my interiors, specially the dash looking better over time as they are protected.

this is my interior temperature at 1pm in a hot sunny day in South Florida. My car lives outside.
