What would happen if we don’t accept? Can we accept at any point in the future? Is there a benefit to waiting…for an enhanced FS, lower interest rates, less bugs, more range.. or will they all be the same? Can we get the $7,500 tax credit on the FS if we qualify, when we file next year …? ( The 79k and $20k FS benefits are definitely broken into 2 parts… making me think I could claim it next year.) Are there pros to waiting? I definitely want FSD, home charging, and bi directional … But not the tires…. I have a Dec 27, 2023 FS order… please help ;) ALL options considered ;)

not sure when they'll klck you out and make you forfeit your 250 or 1k deposit if you don't "accept." but to your question about the benefits of waiting, I think if you wait long enough, FSD will be working, the price will be lower, the range will be higher, your diff lockers will work, and...well, who knows about interest rates, but one can speculate. but then you won't have your truck for another 3, 6, 9 months. how much that matters to you only you can answer...

I'm gonna say no to the tax credit because 79990 is without any upgrades attached. Foundation Series package upgrades the interior and the tires/wheels. Both of which would be considered attached upgrades and raise the MSRP of the vehicle

I feel like Tesla could frame it as buy FSD, home charging, wheels, etc.. get free FS etching and white interior … I doubt that is something an IRS judge would argue with ;)

It's not impossible for them to try and jump some hoops. But I don't think they will. They already got your money. (By next filing szn)

Free etching, maybe. They don't price it on other vehicles.

But the IRS deals in 'values' not 'prices' so if you get given something, the IRS values it at the value (whatever it would have cost), not the price (free).
