We've posted first looks at the inductive wireless charging system for the Cybercab Robotaxi, which wasn't shown on the web reveal livestream. Since we know that the Cybertruck is inductive charging ready (see battery connector harness spotted in Service Manual), could this be a preview of how the inductive wireless charging mat and charging UI will look?

Wireless Charging System Photos:

Inductive Wireless Charging System / Mat for Cybercab Robotaxi - first look (@ Cybercab Robotaxi Forum)

The photos show the wireless charging mat going up to 21 kw @ 38% SoC (we don't know if it goes higher because the video cuts off)

Nice to see induction charging finally on the horizon soon. Hope to see for the CT within a couple of years. And hope that the wireless charging rate will be decent. Too bad they didn't show charging rate in the Robotaxi Cybercab presentation.

Also appreciate the "Cyber" styling of that charging mat. ? Perfect for the Cybertruck, Cybercab and all future "Cyber" styled Teslas.

This seems like an appropriate next step in Tesla’s accessory arsenal. Most likely won’t come cheap though.

My dream is if induction charging is embedded in our roads. Iffy to be seeing this in our lifetime.

I’m having thoughts of how hot my iPhone gets while charging wirelessly in my CT. It should be interesting if they can make this work without those risks.
Tesla battery has liquid cooling BMS. Iphone does not. Have you seen how hot super chargers can get?

By the time anything would come of this, the charging issue will be gone. You’ll be able to super charge to 80% in minutes, and there would be no need for this. Would be cool, but the logistics would be a nightmare, who pays for the electricity, the infrastructure, etc.

Electricity draw can be metered and auto-billed as already happening.

Infrastructure can be private-public funded.
