And I thought that $1600 a year for insurance for my Rivian, which I thought was expensive, for a vehicle that I paid $86,000 for…

Tesla Cybertruck Insurance cost / quotes / premiums for Cybertruck -- what's yours? 💲 1710864546393-6o

This price is for 4 cars (2 Teslas and 2 Gas Cars) every 6 months in MA so $42 a month for CT

Interesting that mine went down by $45 (2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2). Also interesting that my Model Y is more expensive than the CT. Esurance with 1k deductable 100/300

If you are a 100% remote worker remember that you can set all your vehicles to pleasure use and your rates will be dramatically lower. thats why Cybertruck is only $42 a month for me

That is true, but having worked in an adjacent industry for a few years it is also a way to null and void your policy in some situations. For instance if you have a total loss or accident the first thing the insurance company will do is try to verify that you don't use your vehicle for work, if they can find ONE instance that you do, your policy and claim may be declined.

FWIW we’re with Mercury and currently have our R1S and Polestar 2 dual motor. I asked what the change in premium would be swapping out the P*2 for the Cybertruck (gave Beast VIN) and answer was about an extra $300 each 6 months.

All in all not a bad change.

That’s funny I’m also coming from a 2019 ZR2. I got the quote today and Tesla wanted $355 a month for insurance. I’ll be shopping around for a better quote that’s crazy

Progressive specifically tells you to choose this option if you are a remote worker. Which i said 100% Remote. If you commute, then this isn't for you.

This is a pretty silly thread because insurance rates will vary more depending upon your address, your driving record, your age and marital status, and other basic factors than it will based upon which $100,000 vehicle you drive.

The quotes posted are pretty meaningless and all over the board.
I agree. A work-around would be if everyone also included this info:

Age: 67
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Driving record: no accidents or tickets in the last 5 years
Marital status: Not married
Drivers @ home: just me
Level of insurance: 250K, 500k, 250K
Deductible: $1,000
Other insurance impediments: ???

Since no one is adding that info, its hard to use the info they are providing.

True, but the location is the big one. Comprehensive insurance includes theft and vandalism and weather-related damage, this varies widely based upon location, even down to the neighborhood you live in. So, unless you have a bunch of people with the same location (and other data) it makes it hard to meaningfully compare.

From Connectbyamfam.com (Costco insurance who was cheapest for my Model S) quoted me at $2450 for 6 months..... over $400/m

Anyone in Texas have a good recommendation? This is insane, she told me "because of the car price" lady my Model S was almost half that and it was the same price xD
