Does anyone else have trouble getting the truck centered in a parking spot when pulling in the first time? I'm assuming I am having trouble because of the rear wheel steering. My other truck is a Ford F250 and I have owned those for years. I have a CDL, and have also drove dump trucks for years. I whip thos into spots perfect every time. I only drive my CT after work an have 6K miles on it. But I would have thought by now I would have this mastered this. Obviously this is a skill issue and not a truck issue, but I cannot seem to judge parking with the CT like I can other vehicles. Just curious is anyone else struggles with this and if there are any tips to nail this the first time, every time.

I bet you are an awesome driver!
Same happened to me so now I “wiggle” a bit each way and follow the lines on screen. Ford trucks are notorious for bad turning radius so you will be great in the Tesla!

I have learned to use the screen guide lines and that works well. Lining up in my garage with little space to clear the doors is more challenging.

My screen lines do not seem to pop up on the screen until I am already almost parked. Backing in, this works well. But pulling in is a another story.

Odd my screen lines turn on at Something like 10-15mph. As for the tip, practice it a few times untill you master it. Take the turn as wide closest to 90 degrees as you can so you will be traveling straight longer into the space. This also helps for pulling out into traffic and staying in your lane or making a turn while some clown has pulled out far.

I find I am always Right of center (passenger side bias) and have to wiggle to be centered (OCD). Backing in is easier but is a PIA when their are others around just trying to get around me. Also, most parking garages are forward drive-in only now. I agree with the above tip: keep it close to the 90 degree turn for parking and entering the street, etc.. I learned this from FSD as it pulls out straight and then hard turns to enter traffic. But I still end up leaning Right when I park.

I definitely prefer backing in. It's hard because you can't see out the back. In the beginning I used to open the bed cover. But that's an extra step and I don't anymore. I use a combination of screen graphic, screen cams, and mirrors. Over time I found the screen graphic that is top down showing the lines is a key resource and I rely on that much more now, while constantly validating via mirrors. I see comments that some people have issues with the screen graphic so good luck.
