My internal list of Cybertruck milestones went like this:
- visual evidence of CT giga castings
- visual evidence of exoskeletons/BIWs
- visual evidence of early manufacturing line vehicles (RCs)
- visual evidence of several CTs in the parking lot
- visual evidence of NHTSA safety, crash and EPA testing
- visual evidence of production VINs
- delivery event
- watch ramp up of production CTs
- first delivery to reservation holders
- wait for the call
I was wrong about some of these, most notably the exoskeleton milestone, though we had evidence of BIWs. I was also wrong about not knowing the difference between hand-built RCs, manufacturing-line RCs, and production RCs. I merged them all together but in the list above I fleshed them out.
The way I see it now we are waiting to see evidence of NHTSA and EPA testing. It is interesting that there is a lot of focus on other things, and we are all caught up in it, but what I am looking forward to is evidence that the test vehicles have made it through the next official hoop. It is clear that we are rapidly approaching the delivery event. Whether it is one month or two almost seems immaterial anymore, because we know that if Tesla can make 10 RCs a day that their ramp will likely be pretty fast when they get to building production vehicles, so if we lose a month now we will probably get it back pretty quickly.
Other people's milestone lists? Similar? Different?
