I bought the bed divider. Might try to rig up wheel chocks on the Mole mounts for my turbo levo to ride in the bed. Prob have to angle the rear wheel as it’s long.
You will prob need to keep the tailgate down. I havn’t tried fitting my bike in the bed at a 45 degree angle standing up but I doubt it will fit. Removing the front wheel and getting an axel mount on the rail under the rear window would work.

I'll add that the bike carrier can also play havoc with Autopilot and FSD. They don't like cameras covered.

As a person who has driven a Model Y that has FSD with a bike carrier on the hitch I would agree It’s annoying. The Cybertruck is designed to tow things which is a reason I think the Autopilot/FSD is not available yet. So we have no idea if it will be affected by towing or having the rear camera covered.

Regardless, I bought the truck to use it and to not base my decisions on FSD/Autopilot availability.

Not sure why you would think that we "have no idea" that it doesn't work. If they needed to use it in the cars, why would they not need it now?

But most importantly, Tesla just does not support FSD while towing at this time. And it would be a VERY low probability that they add it before they port FSD to the Cybertruck.

I will say the Cybertruck doesn’t act the same as the Y with a bike rack installed. So we will just have to find out how limited the functionally is once it is fully ported.

In what way does it act differently today?

After getting used to towing boats with a truck and SUV, one quickly learn not to rely on the rear view mirror anyways. Because you basically can't see any through them once hitched up. We generally rely on the side mirrors anyways. I supposed that's why I haven't been bothered by the change of the rear view mirror set up on the CT to primarily be on the center display.

Since my rack connects to the 4 Pin trailer connector the truck auto knows something is hooked up and displays an ICON with a trailer. It doesn’t beep or alert the rear parking sensor when going in reverse. Without a bike on the rack it doesn’t obstruct the camera. The software we have currently on the Cybertruck is V12 and as far as I can tell is a beta even though it is released to current owners. Or at the very least a limited feature V12 release.

The Model Y on the other hand didn’t know how to handle the bike rack and constantly alerted me cause it thought I was backing into something.

That's pretty much EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I didn't explicitly mention it, but hooking up to the trailer plug engages tow mode. And that turns FSD off.
It's done the same thing on essentially all the FSD Betas.

The Silverado EV adverts mention that their autopilot works while towing so hopefully it's just a matter of time before it is enabled on CT. Especially for just a bike rack which is on my truck pretty frequently. But for now I will settle for advanced autopilot being turned out by the time I take delivery.

There's two oxymorons in your statement.

  • Silverado EV
  • "their autopilot"

Neither really exist. They aren't currently delivering the truck and their autopilot is severely limited.

But it works so well in the ad... :ROFLMAO::p
Point well taken but at the least they are advertising it as a product so presumably there is no inherent regulatory blockade on it.

Regulatory blockade, no.
Ability to implement/produce it? Yes.

Go read some of the Mary Barra stuff. She's intent at leaving EVs behind and going full tilt at hybrids now. They have a couple of EVs that I'm afraid may not see daylight. The Ultium platform seems to be a bust for them, unless they can get it working.

She’s intent on saying anything to appease shareholders.

I use a bike rack on my 2023 X and I haven't had any problems using FSD when carrying bikes. I use trailer lights on my setup so I have to go in and deselect trailer mode. Lights still work and I can still engage FSD.
