L-Track compatible frunk mat??

Would you purchase a frunk mat that you could use the L-Track and cargo net with?

  • No, that's a stupid idea

I was wondering if anyone is aware of a frunk mat that has precut holes for use of the Tesla L-Track and cargo net. I keep my tool bag in my trunk held in place by the cargo net, but it's causing my frunk to get scratched up. Of course, I could always just cut holes in any compatible mat, but it wouldn't be a clean look... So I'm trying to see if there's a product out there already that I just can't find?

I ended up cutting out rectangles in mine so I can use both. With a sharp blade it was fairly easy. Once you install the net it looks fine, if you really want to be precise you can use a ruler or something to get perfectly straight cuts, I kinda free handed it. I needed to trim my mat anyway because it didn't sit on the floor of the frunk without scraping the sides, so regardless I had to trim the edges and figured why not.

Is the l-track fitting on the net long enough to allow the extra thickness?
Could you please post a picture as a guide for how to do this?

Yeah, it fits no problem. I marked where the brackets are underneath the mat, (remove the bracket covers, put the mat in and push down on the area so you can feel where it depresses in over the track, mark it and cut out a small square to open it up so you can see underneath and mark the width) then I kept enlarging it until it was the width and length of the cargo net track mount. I'll post a picture for you tomorrow when I'm home.

I did the same thing, I don't have the OEM frunk L-tracks but have installed a cargo net along with a frunk mat. The mat is easy to cut using a sharp blade.

Very cool looking.Clean. Appears factory. I think in my case I’d want to expose the whole l-track so I could potentially use it for other things too.
I have a 3d maxsoider mat in there

Is the AbstractOcean frunk l-track the same dimensions as the Tesla frunk l-track? I've just ordered the AbstractOcean one. I've had a frunk net for a while but the connection points are dying.

I love that. Only reason I haven’t tried to replicate it yet is that I haven’t been home.
